Just like Hammer Head, it's been 6+ long years since being mothballed. Although I have a Formosa kit on hand, I built the GWS ME-109 instead and will maiden it this weekend! AUW is 16oz. as I covered most of it with cloth and poly-acrylic and painted like mad! lol Since it's been been some time since flying, any tips you may have are appreciated.

When I had my 109, I hand launched it with a slight right bank and it would still try to roll left and turn left.

Yes, a slight right bank when launching is really good to know. Do you remember if you balanced where the slot for the wood 'spar' is in the wing?

Are the external dimensions of the Slow Stick fiberglass fuse, exactly the same as the Alum' tube?
Are the wing mounting brackets the same for both versions?

I put the CG right where the manual states it, can't remember if it was exactly on the spar.

That is exactly where I balanced my ME-109, upside down and I am very happy to report it flies stable and looks great in the air. Thank you for your excellent advise!

Now to build and finish the GWS PT-17 and Tiger Moth 400 bi-planes. All the bumps and visible imperfections sanded smooth, Fuselage and bottom wings are covered with light fiber-cloth and poly-acrylic (waterbased) in lieu of spars like I always do for my GWS planes.

Indeed, the mounting brackets do work well with both fuse types.

Hi Rob,

The current version (with black boom) of Slow Stick includes better wing mounting brackets. You'll find out that it's easier to put rubber bands on the hooks.
