Missing d3dx9.dll

Reinstalling Phoenix on my new Windows 8 pc and and get the notification
" missing d3dx9.dll". Checked both folders win32 and sywow64 folders and the.dll is there. I assume its a folder issue the program is looking for in a new system. Am on Direct x 11. Are there any fixes?
Thanks

Dx9

It is looking for DirectX 9 files....You should be able to install DirectX 9 by itself, not sure....I loaded Win8 over Win7 and already had DirectX9 installed.

Here is a link to download full DirectX 9.0C

And it is DX9.0c that you would want, not a or b. I bet it's on your Phoenix disc. Just install it using it.

Sorry about the reply delay. Computer issues. I already have dx11 on my computer and .dll is on my pc already. Would there be a problem/issue downgrading to dx9?
I would think it would be compatible upwards to later releases.but maybe not.
Thanks

Dx

You can have multiple versions installed. As I stated above
d3dx9.dll =(directx ver 9), and you need 9.0C.

DirectX 11 comes in Windows 8

You're not downgrading. Installing DX9.0c on top of DX11 only installs a couple files that Microsoft dropped from DX9.0c. You'll still have DX11 installed on your system. Don't overthink this.
