1.2gHz Diversity antenna choices - low/med distance/alt

I am building my first FPV dedicated multicopter and have a question for "the best" receiver antenna setup for this mission. Looking for a low level close in setup (<50ft inside 1/2 mile) and low/medium alt within 1 to 1.5 miles.

I am running the RMRC 300mW 1.2gHz tx w/ a low pass filter on the quad

Currently for the ground station I have a RMRC rx w/ saw filter upgrade and a RMRC Optimized 8dbi Patch antenna.

I want to buy a second receiver and the Eagle Eyes diversity set-up, but what other antennas should I upgrade? For the quad, I currently have a inverted V and the stock whip. I thought about an Ibcrazy cloverleaf on the second receiver. Will that work with the stock whip or inverted V antenna or would I have to go to the bluebeam antenna set on both? Is there something better?

Thanks in advance!

Save your money and get a set of circularly polarized antennas. No need for diversity or the extra RX. You need circular polarization on both ends to make it work.

If you really want a killer punch (ie 1/2 mile through buildings) get a cloverleaf and a 3 turn (7.5dbic) helical. The helical is a direct replacement for your patch.

Alex,

I'm getting ready to order this:
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=508

It comes with the optimized 8dbi patch. Would it be better to substitute this

http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=552

for the optimized patch and inverted vee.

If not, what would you recommend?

When are you looking to turn back on direct ordering through your website? RMRC is out of 1.3 ghz bluebeam whip sets with a 90 turn for the tx.

You can find a "TrueWired" set which essentially the same as bluebeam here

@GhostRider32 - My recommendation: BluBeam whips or TrueWired antenna set. Both work incredibly well. Forget the optimaized patch. CP omnis will outperform it hands-down.

If you need a 90 degree connector, order an adapter. They're cheap

It might never happen, actually. I have turned back to what I love: R&D. That's how I build VAS and that's the direction I am headed. HugeOne and I have been putting our efforts together. Anything he makes and anything I make are compatible. We are on the same team.

Shows y'all are out of stock for 1.3 ghz sets, when do you think they will be available to order?

Thanks in advance!

^Hugo makes them to order and is a bit faster than I am. It should only take him a day or two to build you one. I am working on a CNC wirebender to make the lobes faster so both of us can have a stock of wires so we can cut down on the lead times.

Oupss, corrected my online stock... Like Alex said I keep shaped antennas, just need to add coax length and connectors as customers request.

1.2ghz long range omni "air"" antenna ?

Hugo, Alex,
how does this antenna perform "1.2ghz long range omni "air""? where are it's strengths and weaknesses.
I strange can't seem to locate an good info about antenna but I'm very interested. Already have many
flights on the SP and Clover's and love them but just looking for some more range with my single RX base
station. I'm also always open to try new kewl looking antennas

Hugo,
I see you are out of sock on this antenna but I'm curious if you build to order?
