There are several favorable references to the stuff in the past day or so. This post is the most descriptive:
"It penetrates the foam, makes it tougher and gives it a rubbery feel. Once you're glued something with E6000 you won't get it apart again!

It's a good complement to UHU Por. I tend to use E6000 on rips and UHU Por for the main build and anything I might need to prise apart (e.g. to get at the servos). I also like to work some E6000 into the edges of my planes using a broken propeller.

It dries pretty quickly which makes it good for field repairs."

See the two posts after that for a Q&A on its foam-safety-osity-ness-ability......

Pug,

I've been using various formulations of CorrosionX for quite a few years. It's great stuff. However, I wouldn't want to get any of it in these servos.

Do the TP batts have the Eflite connectors or would I have to switch out everything to JST's?

For my Polaris I soaked everything in CX.... ESC, Rx, servos... While powered....for like a half hour. I worked the servos almost continuously. Put a bunch in cups and soaked all the parts.

The UMX version has the right connector,

I have no idea what Polaris you're talking about. Nevertheless - I wouldn't use CorrosionX on these open-frame servos. I surely wouldn't want a dielectric coating on the resistive strip.

Sorry. It's a popular foamie seaplane on here. Been 6 months and everything has been working fine. All servos just cheap 9gm types.

Problem is the servos on this Mig are a completely different design, with some of their electrical components exposed. Spraying them with much of anything will tend to cause problems, much less a product like CX.

You can PM RCBabbel here and get his lightened TP 325 65C, they'll come with the UMX plug. Or for a couple gram penalty, ThunderPower now sells the stock packs with the UMX connector. Just be sure to order the correct "umx" version as the other will have jst.

Great thanks!

One last ?

Are the RCBabble batts lighter than the stock batt that comes with this jet?

You can't get something for nothing. Higher-capacity packs generally weigh more than lower-capacity packs, and higher-current packs generally weigh more than lower-current packs - when they're all made from cells of similar design. RC's packs are lighter that their factory counterparts because he is very weight-conscious when choosing his packaging materials. The factory 200mAh 25c pack weighs 13.35g. My Hyp 240 25c Babbelbatts weigh 14.5g, while my TP 325 mAh 65c Babbelbatts weigh 20.9g. Despite being heavier than the factory pack, thrust-to-weight and top-speed are improved with his Hyp 240s, and his TP 325s provide a significant increase in thrust-to-weight & top-speed. In fact, they outperform any 2s pack that will fit the plane and allow for an acceptable CG.

Kevin,

I feel your pain! Once you get a chance to try his TP 325s, you'll want enough to equip your MiG & Sbach, and if you own them - the CC, Gee Bee, and 130X.

No ice storms here (everything that can freeze is already frozen solid) - but the below 0 F temps and winds have put the kibosh on my outdoor flying. Even if it was warm enough, I don't have a spot large enough for the MiG. The CC is only plane I've flown outdoors since we got the 1.5 feet of snow just after Thanksgiving. With the floats on, my entire yard is my runway. But it's been nearly three months since I've flown the MiG.

Even worse - I just found out yesterday that we lost our nice indoor spot at the sports center. All of our 2013 flying dates have been cancelled due to poor attendance. After flying a few hot-laps with my Beast 3D on 3s at our New Year's Eve indoor-fly, I was really hoping to fly the MiG in there. Three soccer courts side-by-side would have been plenty of room for a few laps with the MiG. There are only two other indoor spots large enough for UMX planes that I know of around here. But they're 40 & 50 miles away, and they're not large enough for the MiG.

If it's not raining it's been snowing---And if it's not snowing ice is falling...And if nothing is falling from the sky then the wind is blowing at Mach 2......Really can't complain too much as we don't get the arctic cold much---And if we do it only lasts for a day or two...

Poor attendance???...Was there an admission charge and costs weren't being covered???...Just curious...Locally we have a church with a huge gym with two full size basketball courts, running track---I would love to get a chance to fly there sometime....

I have somewhat been keeping my flying skills up by flying a micro quad inside of the house...
