Don, I just bought a Stinger. After I fly it stock I'd like to hop it up. When do you expect to have your wicked plus 4000 motors back in stock?

I am hoping to have them in about 10 days. I had more than expected orders last month and it ran my stock down and then the Chinese New Year at the end of January threw a wrench in things for about 2 weeks.

I have a friend from China and she says the whole country practically shuts down for a month for the CNY. She says it is really frustrating for everybody over there, too.

Don,
I just received the wicked 4000+ and fan unit yesterday. Thanks for the sending so quickly. I've only flown the Stinger (4S) twice so I'll probably wait until I get a couple more flights in before installing.

I also have the Freewing Panther. It's a little slow for me. Do you think this set up for that would be worthwhile?

Either Setup A or B from this page will be a good choice depending if you want 3S or 4S.

Don, with all the new jets coming out and the trend going larger & larger (Stinger 90 and the to come 120 planes I'm hearing about), are you planning on doing any 90/120 combo's or parts?

No plans on big fans like that.

Fuse Modification

Don,

I thought I saw in one of the threads ( I thought it was this one) where you modified the fuse. The mod was separating the fuse at the tail cone up to the fan. Then from the tail cone measure 1/4 inch out and remove the material from the tail up to the fan at an angle. I.E. from 1/4 at the tail to centerline. Do this for both sides and glue the tail back together. The intent was to decrease the outlet. Are you aware of this or am I just imagining it?

Don,

I'm flying this with your wicked 4000 set up. I'd like to get a little more speed out of it. For the "nip and tuck" how far out from center on the tail cone did you measure and approx. how far forward towards the fan did you rip the fuse? Thanks,

Dave

Here are the photos I took of my nip and tuck operation. The reason I could not find them before is they were in the internal memory on my camera not an SD card!

It seems I did not measure the width of the triangle cut at the end. If you tell me the diameter of the stock tube outlet I can calculate the amount to cut off.

Don,
It is not perfectly round rather oval. 58mm horizontal ID, 52mm vertical ID.
Thanks,

Dave

You want the width of the triangle cut at the back to be around 3/8"-7/16" wide (10-11mm). The goal is to get around 52mm average opening (or just a hair less ).

Thanks Don,

I'll do it and post a flight report. Hopefully sometime this weekend.
