Help with Tracing Plans

I just printed out a tiled plan for the nutball with a 19" wing.

I was tracing the rudder wing(I believe thats what its called) and I got to wondering how to trace onto the foam board the location of the control horn. On the plan its a line on the paper.

Should I just eyeball where to put the line? Any techniques?

Just glue the plans to the foam, in spots that are waste, cut through the plans. Save the parts
patterns for the next one or for repairs.

It's not like you spent a lot of $ on the plans, a bit of time putting them together.

This is built from a 3 view I found on line. Printed it to the size I wanted, 30" wing to
fit the foam board. Stuck it to the board and cut it out. From printer to plane was
just over an hour.

We still print out our plans on Index card stock ( thick paper for computers) then cut them out to make patterns.... That makes transferring shapes to foam very easy ...

If you know and have CAD then you can trace the plans out IN CAD !

Then either plot out the plans as many times as you want or
cut them on a CNC machine.

Plotter or printer.... One still gets a paper plan .
Glue stick the paper onto 'whatever' then cut parts out with a blade.
Fairly self evident.

Some one posted about this thing some time back, I bought mine at Hobby
Lobby. They have a smaller one with a swivel blade, I got it as well, not
as useful as the larger one. I love the thing, very easy to be very actuate.
Just like using your finger to cut. And it does not roll off the table. Uses
regular #11 blades

the smaller one cuts half way through DS foam board.
