I ran a test with a dummy load on the foxtec tx, that means I DIDN'T have ANY antenna mounted on the transmitter,
Note that Vtx leak an appreciable amount of power from the case/wiring, in the -40/-30dbm range. That amount vary greatly with the position of the Tx so it may not give consistent results. Using a 30db attenuator and an antenna for a stable -7dbm emission is more accurate, but a longer walk

I have gone 12km with a set of 1280 pinwheels.... but your mileage may vary...

how far do you need to go? This way I can tell you if you are ok with omnis or you need a helical on the ground.

Also what is the area you fly in? Is it rural or urban? How high do you fly when going far?

I noticed it leaks RF I just didn't know how much, to be able to calculate what kind of attenuation I am getting with a dummy load, but all it takes is one other flight to make up a usable ratio...

Exciting times ahead. I am going to refine the Lindenblad and also a 5.8 phased array...

After every post it takes just a couple hours and the thread gets bounced back in the second, third or fourth page. So I don't see it as a problem. Vendors need a bit of visibility, and you get NO visibility in the vendor's forums.
It's best to have only 1 thread with everything regarding fpvlr.com, which is development, new products, customer support, customers' questions, than have 100 threads with a little bit of info in each one...because that's what customers would resort to, writing a new thread for each question etc.... A thread like this is a way to keep things neat.
It's still against the rules. I'd imagine the vendors section was created for a reason. This thread was created by a vendor purely for commercial reasons. Anyway not my issue - just pointing it out. Here is the forum rule that pertains:

We allow one advertisement per week per forum per user. An advertisement is any content designed to sell or publicize an event, good, or service. Note that certain areas of the site (including the classifieds and vendor sections) are exempt from this rule.

I read the rule, and I will limit my advertisement to 1 per week as the rule states. Actually I thank you for pointing it out to me.

Hello Ceros, connectors and frequency can be chosen from the order window when adding to cart. But custom orders, like LHCP etc can be specified in the PAYPAL notes.....

Let me know if you have more questions.

Hello Mike,
this 5.8 ghz set is heading to Virginia...
I have test flown the tx antenna to 9 +Km using a lowly 4.25 turn helix (all the way to the very edge of video link- video coming shortly) and it's performing as expected, so your set is heading to Virginia.
