Looper is a WIN!

Looper was amazing... 9/10

Saw it in the theater just after it opened... there was total silence as the closing credits rolled.

Sorry, Looper didn't do anything for me. The original Terminator did a better take on time travel, IMO.

Finally saw Moneyball and it wasn't bad, for a Brad Pitt movie.

If not but for a few scenes where the acting didn't quite flow as well as it should have, this would have been a great movie.
Nonetheless, it was still very very good. Take the family and don't be cheap, spring for the Imax seats (stunning visuals and a fantastic story). 4/5

Whilst on holiday, I watched one of the Twilight films (it was the only thing on ).

What total crap!

All touchy, feely, who's hidden emotion, who loved/but wasn't sure/wanted to fight over their 'true' love!

Absolutely rubbish - only suitable for pubescent girls who dream about a strong, dark (but caring in a hidden manner ) 'man' to whisk them away.

0/10!

Took the family to this movie (3d, not Imax) on Saturday night.

Visuals were excellent. We've all watched the original Wizard of Oz and thought it was a pretty good adaptation, with Franco doing a respectable job in the lead role. Definitely better than most of reviews credit it and worthy of a family night out at the movies.

I wonder if the hate from the Hobbit is coming from the 3d version? I saw it in the theaters in 2d and liked it very much, but I could see the 3d being a distraction and dropping the enjoyment factor by quite alot. There was a substantial amount of time in the film (well over 60% or so) where 3d would detract, since there was no real action occurring, but plot or character development. Seeing it in 2d makes the long stretches without solid action go by quicker, and are actually enjoyable.

I found the Hobbit rather boring. There just isn't that much content in the book and it's obvious where filler has been added. 6/10.

Hobbit was really good and not so good. I thought Bilbo character did an awesome job but some of the scenes got a little Disney for me. Especially the slap stick escape from the underground deal.

Yea, some scenes were kind of over the top, and a huge chunk of the dialog just felt forced.

Seriously.....Twilight??? Norman, feel ashamed... feel very ashamed. You need to watch "Dirty Harry" and "Magnum Force" back-to-back to get our respect back.
