You can easily swap out the 5mm shaft carrier for a 6mm one--the5mm just has a turned down output end if I recall. Thet both have 6mm where it enters the bearings.

No. The KPG25 shaft is 5mm all the way through the bearings.

Steve,
No one has asked you the obvious question!

Does Neu have a motor/gearbox combinations that would be suitable to use with these GM props on 5 cells that also fits inside the fuselages of the common F5D models?

If Neu doesn't have anything yet, is it a priority at Neu to develop such powertrains?

Thanks in advance!
Peter

What mod would you have to do to the X-Plane for this to fit?

Thanx Steve for the good news.

To make a longer fuse nose cone with 30 mm in diameter at the end.

But decided not to bother as to fit NEU P32 box or even 27mm KPG 27 gearbox will be a challenge for the guys .

It would be easier and more practical to make these props with either 32mm -36mm spinners. With 5 and 6 mm shafts. In this case,You can cut the nose cone shorter.I would be first in line to buy then.

Now we have to beg Georgi ,which is not an easy task
Yuri.

If you try to get to anything much larger than a 32mm spinner-- a new blade will be needed. If you simply put a larger hub on it the diameter and pitch will be wrong.

I will now make a fast simulation to see how props will fold to a 33mm fuse.

Here you go :

Not good at all. As Steve says , things are not that easy , and only putting a bigger spinner cone will not do the job.

Then they have to be 5mm shafts .
KPG 25 is 25 mm diameter and will fit 30 mm nose cone .
But all KPG 25s have 5 mm shafts.

Georgi,
What options do you recommend to adjust and finetune runnig-time in competition?
I assume there will be a big step between 10x23 and 11x22?

It looks like there is no option to change like -1,0,+1 Hubs?

Regards
Yello

I am currently drawing hubs to be machined for the folding blades. At first I was planning +2 and -2 and see what difference it makes, then I can do +/- 1 or 4, depends what is needed.
I have a very busy April, but hope to have these done in May.

Bruce,
I think 4 will be too much, the big folders seem to be pretty senitive, if pitch-progress is not perfect, efficiency will drop much more compared to the small cam-props which can be twisted easy without much eta disadvantage.

OK, so I start with just +/- 1 and 2 degree twist and see how it works.
