good experience with Electric Power 12C 1300mAH
I've bought four 12C Electric Power 3cell 1300mAH one at a time
from Jun at Xushobby.com over the last few months.
The oldest one has about a hundred cycles on them. Last night I
charged it fulll (with a Polycharger), then put it in my Estarter
(bp09 outrunner with a GWS 9070 SF prop) with a Astro 101 watt meter.
I wanted to see how much storage is left in this cell after a hundred cycles.
I ran it full throttle (8.7Amp) for about half a minute, then dropped to about
6 Amp for a couple of minutes, then I decided I should run it at 4C (5.2Amp)
and left it running until the rpm started surging (slightly less than 9V but
more than Towerpro 15A ESC's 2.75V per cell cutoff). It put out 1.282AH.
I let the battery rest for about 10 minutes and the voltage rose to about 10.3V, then I recharged and it took 1.290AH. I don't know the original
capacity when it was new, but at about 100 cycles it still has pretty close
to advertised capacity. I had been using this battery for 9 minute
flights on either my estarter or my formosa, using between 500mAH to 700mAH typically, (peak current on the formosa was 14A with a 8040HD
prop on a bp21), so perhaps the gentle use has something to do with it.
I also have another 1300mAH 12C battery that had been accidentally charged
to 13.6V (probably set the charger to NiMH instead of Li), ejected from the
belly of the estarter at 50ft in the air, and still running strong at about 70
cycles. I'll measure the capacity of this one later.
