Here is a short video at Little Mountain, of one of our Perf Tech's(Allan) highly modified wild wings. This one rolls at about 5 turns per second

april 15th flying
me and dennis showed up at 5 pm.it was blowing straight up the hill(W) at 23 mph..it was a blast and about 65 degrees..first time sloper, previously flying gas, Bill from the palm desert area...he had a new NCFM halfpipe..he needed a little direction but he easily grabbed it and had a great time..asa did i flying and trimming his plane out,it was doing huge pumps and flew like a dream.. we stayed til dark and when we left it was still blowing 12 mph!!! we needed lights..we also flew dennis' scratch built wing..it a little heavy and today was the day for it..it was hauling butttt!!!!..huge pumps, and great fun to fly..saturdays forecast is looking ggood but we are a little far off
SUNDAY there was a 4 mph wind,91 degrees, and it was floater time..dennis launched his classic, the pilot made aurora..1600mm..abs plastic fuse..rubber nose..diehedral only...awesome flyer.he was scrarching around on little to nothing..then he jumped into a hawks thermal and 3-4 minutes later he skied out!!.....strong thermal tempts dennis to look down at his radio to add some downn trim and when he looks back up.....................bye bye glider..we scanned the sky for 10 minutes while he was holding some down to the left stick..NOTHING..OMG!! incredible..we continued to fly and on the way down he said lets stop at the park and have a last look.i was merely satisfying his curiosty and said OKAY. he sees something white, grabs the bino's,and said i think thats it!..i took a look thru the binos and said,DEFINETELY.i could see a half of the fuse and some inverted tail feathers..he hiked and got it.the servos were busted out of the mounts, the fuse cracked at rear of wing saddle but not thru, only a couple ribs in the wing were cracked..totally fixable..i cant believe it..i told him it was probably still flying somewhere over big bear..........amazing! |

Amazing find. I had similar experience with a Hobie Hawk years ago. Never did find it.
Sorry I missed you guys out there. Too many orders to fill. I will definitely make an effort to get out there this weekend...maybe sooner. Had a blast flying up there a couple of weeks ago. I would like to repeat the experience (without the dead battery). Cheers and beers... -Paige |

friday april 18
degrees24 avg straight up the face..gusting to 33mph
flew another guys EDF F-16..slope version..no power.. it was a very light plane..maybe 18-22 oz..i helped him rebalance and ballast it up..still light ,but the wind was too much today for this..then i went crazy with the LEG patriot..impressed myself and others today.. tony then showed up with a 15 year old ???make...AT-6 TEXAN PSSER style and it was ripping .....by the end of the 3rd flight we took 1.5 oz of nose weight out and it was reaaly grooving..it was a great performer... the wind got lighter and the red herring went out..5.5 oz. and it made me and dennis giggle at its unruly performance..planes arent supposed to fly like that....LOL......gotta see it at LITTLE MTN..to believe it and it was great and 84 degress.. sat.expecting 20-30 SW per forecast..but 69 degrees..we'll be there....pics and video of today and saturday coming ....stay tuned ..................Dave
this is the JK aerotech micro sniper..more videos to add later..going flying now Last edited by slopepilot; Apr 19, 2008 at 03:13 PM. Reason: video |
