Troy, I'm looking forward to some more flying this weekend after I dig the dirt from my last landing out of my gears! The changes you've suggested look great! I'll send you my info ASAP for the near higher-incidence spacers! Tomorrow I'm going to shorten my rods a bit per your last video as well. Wish me luck! This is fun!

Actually Ed, it's pretty awesome here today!! LOL!
But, unfortunately I have so much on!
At least the weather is starting to pick up now.
I don't think I'll start testing until I've done the changes to the wing though and that should tie in with me receiving the 48p pinion gear I have on order. I could use the 0.5m gear but I want to make a modification to the motor shaft to fit the 48p so it can wait.
That said, keep the popcorn ready mate because there's definitely going to be movies! LOL!!

Thunder Bird Wing Build 1-1

I have worked hard to come up with an easy to build Ornithopter wing.

Below is a look at how I did it.

I have already built one wing like this. ( A Blue wing ) However, I did not take any video during the build. The wing flew well and after giving more thought to the process. I made a few more changes which can be seen in the following videos.

I want to build a few like this to test the performance. So far it is working very well.

I am giving you an inside look at the R&D I am doing to create a simple to build Ornithopter wing kit.

I will edit this post when I have test flown the Orange wing built in the videos.

Get the ready Boyz and Girlz this is going to be a fun ride so hold on!

Wing Build 1-1 STEP 1
Thunder Bird Wing Build Step 1 of 3 (19 min 12 sec)

Wing Build 1-1 STEP 2

It would be the look. IMHO it gives the model a more appealing silhouette. Just a thought.

(Oh yeah ,this is a snapshot of LIG's Slow hawk.)

Troy,
These look great! Is there any chance that you're headed north to the NEAT fair in September?

It would be great if I wasn't the only one bringing an ornithopter!

Here are 2 wings that were built today as well as 3 tails. All being completed for build method testing.

Pictures just need one box right?
