DX6I from Chinese Hobby

I was trawling the net for a cheap DX6I Mode 2 (for some indoor BNF) when I came across some very well priced ($136) units from Chinese Hobby.

However now I'm paranoid that they may be a Chinese copy (if such a thing exists).

Anyway a great deal posted to Australia or a rip off??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Your link is not working for me but anyways its does not sound like a crazy super deal that would concern me.
Horizon hobby is selling the DX6i TX only for 159$. So you see they maybe just trying to unload older stock...

Not sure what the signs for fake would be but the price alone would not be a sign.
HH has this to say about it

You can get the real deal for the same price or less though. Just look around and add it to your cart as internet vendors cant advertised thier true sell price...

Thanks again All.

Well as they say, if it sounds to good to be true......

The big factor for me though with the internet deals (especially from the US) is the shipping to Australia.

I'll keep looking though.

By the way, for those interested, I think the link (above) is fixed.

Cheers

@Andy:

Being that I live over here in China...and am looking to buy a DX6i...could you please shed some light on what I need to look for to determine a fake from the real deal? It's not uncommon here for something fake to be packaged in REAL boxes...as the real one was replaced.

For example, if I were to buy one and pop the back cover off and take a pic of the PCB and email it to you, would you be able to determine from that?

You need to purchase from a reputable vendor who is an authorized dealer. I cannot divulge how we tell real from fake.

Why? It's not like the people manufacturing the fakes don't already know. I mean they have a real one that they cloned to compare their fakes to. They already know what the differences are. As a consumer, I'd like to be aware...
