Ultrafly Cessna 182

Excellent kits with very good engineering especially the bat access, the best I have seen in a small arf. They deserve a lot of credit for such a well thought out arf. This is may second (the first was the Hawk awesome on a bl ).

This has flaps and went with the enclosed geared 400 for now. Rain and high winds coming next few days so have to wait a couple of days for the maiden.

Enjoy

I was looking at one at the LHS earlier today. I noticed the box includes 2 wings. What's the difference between the two?

One is for beginners. It's quite a bit thicker. Ultrafly claims slower and more stable.
the other wing is thinner, and allows the cessna to achieve greater speeds, and perform aerobatics.
follow this link, and you can see the cessna in flight http://www.rcgroups.com/links/index.php?id=4426

Nice looking plane. I agree on the kit. Seems to be well made.
I'm still putting mine together. Hope to maiden it sometime this week.

We've got the same winds down here in RI.

182 Maiden

Well it was hot but the rains did not today (actually just starting to thunder and rain) and had a chance to maiden the Cessna 182 stock with 3stp2100 and a 8x6apc prop, LHS didn't have any 8x8, winds variable 5-15mph.

Flies real well some down trim was all required to trim and I used my high aileron rates for more roll authority..rudder pretty effective as well.

The fun part was letting the flaps down..looks real cool Not much pitch change and with throttle management and elevator could get it to hover (horizontal that is ) in the wind. It does slow it down somewhat but not a great amount, I getting about 45 degrees deflection.

Overall it makes a good trainer with the enclosed 400, but a bl would really help it move along. But having no spare bl esc the 400 is more than adequate for lesurely flying especially in calm days. I think my 8 cell kans 1100 may have a new home for some relaxing flights.

Well done UltraFly......Can't wait for the SU-27

Ralph
