Just opened this for registration recently and noticed we already have 8 registered pilots, so time for a post. Last years contest was a great success so we are doing it again! Come fly with us!

Thanks for hosting this again!

This was a first time event last year, hosted by a club with power and now glider pilots. It was a blast and I look forward to it again.

Hotel suggestion:
AMA discount program with Motel 6

Motel 6 - Salisbury #4603

Don't wait too long to reserve, hotels can fill up in the area.

Jeff, need to chat this up and get it bumped to first page.

Question, with the time change and time of year, is there a reason to stop flying early on Saturday? We went to six and got in eight rounds with four groups last weekend.

Just wondering. Look forward to seeing you folks again.

That sounds good to me. I'm just hoping my radio will be back in time for this contest.

Guess, I am not the only one with this question
I emailed Jeff about it. Jeff agreed to relax his initial position on the Saturday end of flying time. We can decide at the pilots meeting when we want to stop flying on Saturday. At 4pm the sun is so high this time of year, it seems like the middle of the day still. In my opinion, we can easily continue flying until 6pm. Thermals continue at least until 7pm as we discovered last weekend in Charlotte.

I will be adding pilot's names to the playlist this year. Make sure if you are coming (or even might be) that you register or drop me a note so I can record your name before the contest. If you find people don't pronounce your name properly often, a sound file with how to properly pronounce your name emailed to me would be greatly appreciated.

Is there room for me to bring a small motor home? Any possibility of a power hook up?

Thanks, Brian P.

Self contained motor homes ok. I will probably be there in mine like last year so I can monitor the site overnight. I should be able to arrange a 15 amp supply or two. No water supply, fill your tank.

So where is everyone staying? My usual haunts are booked for the weekend. Are people going to go for the Motel 6 offer with the AMA deal?

Last year we had a group get together and have dinner and it was fun. Would like to do so again. I plan to get into town on Friday afternoon.

I'm at the Motel 6. Going through the AMA the tab is about $77 a night which includes all fees and taxes. The drawback is that it looks to be about 20 minutes from the field. I'm gonna try to get down to Salisbury in the early afternoon on Friday and get in some needed practice.

I cant remember where it was, but the hotel that most of stayed in last year was very nice and very reasonable, and also right across the street from where we all got together and ate saturday night. Anyone remember where that was?
