Good advice about flying like real aircraft. All the real pilots I"ve flown with in N. Cal. mountains never fly lower than the hill tops and always in sight of a road. I fly over grass and keep it that way. Altitude is still a good friend to me just in case.

I've just got to relate again the experience of flying my brother-in-law's Beast 3D on stock batteries. What a groaning slug it was! It could just keep maneuvering speed at 1/2 throttle and required full throttle for any good looking aerobatics. It felt like a real dud!
E,

I suppose I'm just a power freak but I couldn't resist flying my new B3D all stock for the first few flights.

SLUG!

I came very close to getting rid of it.

On 3S 180s, it's easily my favorite UM plane.

LWRC,

I got lucky on my V1 Beast brick.
No problems yet flying her on 3S power.

That's not always the case with the non-AS3X bricks.
I've 'currently' toasted two stock UM Stryker bricks on 3S batts.

I have the 3S 240s also, but I just tried BabbelBatt's 3S 180s. What a difference! Slower, floaty if you want and a monster in vertical even at only 1/2 throttle. Thanks, Roger! I've only flown 1 battery so far, but expect lots more fun!

E,

Excellent!
I was trying to get them to you by Sat.

Your 180s are the same design that I fly.
Short leads and 28ga tap wires.
Insane power-to-weight but the B3D has excellent slow speed handling.

Happy flights to you!!

B3D (New Here)

Hello Guys. I found this site the other day by searching the net for ways
to add power to the B3D. I spent most of the last 3 days reading most
of this thread. Very good info here. I got my bird last fall, maidened it,
& shelved it. All I have are 2 of EF 180 batts, & the charger Batts are
junk. Bird can`t get out of it`s own way. Not going to fly it again until I
get some BabbBats. Did I spell that right? I am about to order a charging
adapter for them. My plane is in almost new condition, except for a ding
on the spinner, & bent wheel-pants.While I await the above parts, I plan
to re-enforce the elevator. It has a tiny wrinkle @ the control horn.
One question. Can someone give Me a link for for the best GWS prop
for 3S batts from Babb, with a stock motor? Thanx for all the posts on
this thread, Men. I tried to read them all, but,,,,,,,,,
(I looked some for a new member thread. Is their not one?)
Scott

It just occurred to Me, that I don`t know what I need to charge the 3S packs.
Any help? I`m good to go w/ 2S adapters now.

Welcome Scott!

You've done right ordering some BabbelBatts, they are by far the best for you guys in the US.
MiniAviation are a close second place for us in the UK.

Mine has a 2300 (V1) motor and a 5043 prop. The motor is an easy swap out and well worth it.

I mainly fly using 3S BB240s which are awesome but also use 2S 240s & 180s, though not often with the 180s as I prefer longer flights...

Have fun!
Tony

they come from Babb`s that way? I ordered 2 2-S 180`s & 2 3_S 180`s
from Him,& then I woke up to the fact that I have no way to charge
the 3-S batts. Been following this thread alot.. I may have missed it
somewhere. Dying here. Can`t wait to fly this thing with some THRUST.
Again, I appreciate everything I have learned for free on this thread..VERY
good info on here. I`m just getting started with this thing, tho. I know
that 3S is risky, but so is walking across the street. We CANNOT live
in fear. Especially where r/c flight is concerned.

Yes!

The 2S batts have the Eflite UMX plugs and charge as normal, the 3S batts have the UMX plug and a balance tap.

If unsure which one just PM RC and ask, though I suspect JST XH will be fitted unless another was specified...
