Alan, do not think that parking lot lighting is light enough for a maiden....... Oh yeah, it seems real light until you get above 50' or so and then its night time again.......

1st thing in the morning in dead air will be perfect for maiden, but probably not what she was made for, will let you know how she floats and runs though! Yeah, I am as excited as you are!!!!!

hi, empty i'm at 74mm from LE (i heard people flying it at 78mm) ,when it get's turbulent/windy i prefer 68-69mm , but that's a personnaal choise , i like to have it very far forward.

using d47's on rudder and elevator and a 30-35gr pack you get a a.u.w.of about 265grams with the glass tails, with carbon veil ones and a small battery you can get as low as 250grams with that lay-up

280g is a perfect weight. And you wont have any issues with dead air at that weight. If you move the CG back to 73-74, you should easily be able to get into the 270's AUW. In calm air, 70mm CG may feel a bit too far forward because it will have a tendancy to not want to slow down to a good float speed unless you put in a good amount of camber, 10-15mm. At the 73-74 setting it handles calm air wonderfully with the recommended float camber. In turbulence, the 70mm setting is perfect. Keeps the nose down and the speed up.

even if you don't have it fully trimmed, please bring the Helios to the AZ Open. I'm probably not the only one who's curious, and there should be plenty of time left Saturday afternoon to get it ready for Sunday.

I'm at a customer so I don't have much time to post but for now let's leave it at I Love The Helios! Even with the cg at 70 it flys great. I'll post more later.

Yes I will have the Helios at the AZ Open and will be flying it in the contest.

Does anyone fly the Helios with aileron differential? I like the way it flys with symmetrical throws, just curious.

Kyle your right the cg @ 73mm is perfect. Flys well, indicates lift and really slows down in thermal mode to climb.
