Help!
Servos turn but motor won't

Ok I am new to this hobby and I am using brushed motors with a brushed electrifly c-35 ESC. When I plug the battery directly into the motor, the motors will turn. I have two from an old boat that I thought about using and I have a speed 400. Both of these work fine when plugged into the battery, when I run everything through my receiver, the servos will work and the motor will only beep at verying times depending on where I have the throttle set to.

I am running a:
Lanxiang 2.4 GHZ remote
Lanxiang 2.4 GHZ 8 channel reciever
Electrifly c-35 ESC
KS 88b servos
7.4v 1250 HP lipo

I know that the channel 3 is throttle, channel 1 is aileron, 2 is elevation, 4 is rudder.

What can I do to fix this problem. All the connections look good and the motor/esc beeps so I think that it has a good connection. IN NEED?

If the motor is beeping at you, it's all getting power. It's just not arming.

Check to make sure the throttle channel isn't reversed, and when you turn the system on make sure the throttle stick and trim are both all the way down. Depending on the radio, you may have to re-bind the transmitter to the receiver with the throttle trim in the correct place.

Also, if there's a prop on the motor you should take it off until you are 100% in control of the motor. It can be very dangerous or very inconvenient if the motor starts up with a prop attached when you don't necessarily want it to.

Low voltage on the battery? Is the battery fully charged?

No prop is on the motor at this time. Nothing is installed in the plane, I am doing this all on a bench test before I even think about putting prop and installing in plane. I will check the throttle reverse now. I have them all set to normal on the airplane remote.

I have a lipo battery but not a lipo charger. Can I charge the lipo battery with a non lipo charger?
but why would the motor turn when it is directly plugged into the battery but not when it is ran through the esc?

why would I have to rebind the remote since it still runs the servos. Doesn't that mean it is bound to the receiver? How do I rebind a lanxiang to a lanxiang receiver?

I have the same one in my Mirage 550, running a 600 brushed can, this is a programable esc, make sure your setting are right for the battery your using, lipo, nimh, ect. It,s also set with an motor arming safety to prevent motor turning on during battery plug in. To arm motor, push up throttle to full, then then return to off, it should beep at you with a quick succsion of beeps, then the motors arm and ready for flight. There should be instuctions on how to set the esc in the package, hope this helps...........

This info is off there web site.............................................. ......

FEATURES: Compact size to minimize weight and simplify installation
Programmable battery types
Automatic temperature protection reduces max throttle to 70% when max
temperature is reached
"Safe-Start" system prevents accidental motor starts by disabling the
motor circuitry until the throttle stick is moved to full throttle,
then to the OFF position
Factory installed radio, motor and battery connectors
Fully proportional forward with brake
Battery Eliminator Circuitry provides sufficient power for the
receiver and three standard servos. The motor battery powers the
receiver and servos. When voltage is reduced to the appropriate
voltage, the Low Voltage cut-off circuitry stops the motor while
continuing to supply power to the receiver and servos.
Solid-state current overload limiter
Built-in thermal protection drops throttle to 70% if
transistors overheat
Reverse-polarity protection
High Frequency to optimize battery run-time and cool operation.
ON/OFF radio switch and set-up LED light

If you are using a Futaba transmitter, you have to have the throttle channel reversed.

No you cant safely charge a LiPo with a non-lipo charger.

The motor may not run when connected through the ESC because, if the ESC is designed for LiPo's, it will have a low voltage cut-off (LVC) whereby once the battery voltage drops below a certain value (3-3.2v per cell) then the ESC cuts the power to the motor (but still powers the RC). This is to prevent over discharge of the battery which would otherwise damage the LiPo.

Plugging the LiPo direct into the brushed motor then the motor will just run and run until the battery is totally flat, and that most likely will be the end of your battery

Ok I will buy a lipo charger and make sure that it is fully charged.

Stealth117, I got this esc used so it didn't come with any directions.
Could you give me the directions for disarming the safety for flight and how to set the differences for lipo and nimh batteries?

You don't want to disarm the LVC for flight (if that's what you mean by "safety". The Low Voltage Cutoff is there so you don't accidentally drain your LiPo batteries down to a point where they can't be charged again.

Unlike NiCads which can be drained nearly empty and then recharged again, LiPo batteries get damaged beyond repair when that happens and then you end up recycling them and buying another.

Once I went through all the manual steps 2-3 times it finally works. Thanks for all the help. No my problem is that I need to beef up more power and charge my battery to get this thing off the ground. All is working good so far so thank you for all your help.
