Hello everyone!

I would like to share with you my home made quadcopter build.
It will be my 1st quadcopter ever, so i decided to do a cheap version incase i crash it. The center plates are made of 3mm FR4 material
and arms are aluminium square tubes. Distance from motor to motor is 60cm.

Nice, you can't beat a GRP + aluminium frame for rigidity and crash survivability.

Nicely made.
3mm FR4 is very rigid and practically indestructible.

Thank you for the comments. Yep FR4 is really nice, maybe for the next time, i will go with 2mm or 1,5mm to save abit more weight. Job for today is to buy new shrink tube for ESCs since i had to solder longer wires to them on the motor side. And i have to solder wires on the power side together.

I might need to program the ESCs 1st though. How do you recommend i do that?
I have Turnigy programming card.

These two options are bothering me:
Timing mode: low / medium / high
Start mode: normal / soft / very soft

Since i bought these ESCs without checking if i can flash them 1st i hope it will work. I have seen some videos on youtube where people
fly with them, i have some hope. They have SiLab chip.

Timing mode: medium. Start mode: normal. Don't forget to calibrate throttle ranges. If you can't flash them, they will still fly fine.

Do you know how to calibrate throttle range?
I guess this is the way:

1.)Connect the ESC to the throttle channel of the receiver. Have a motor connected to the ESC as the motor will provide beeps necessary to hear the calibration steps. DO NOT attach the propeller or anything else to the motor; simply have the motor connected to the ESC.
2.)Turn on the radio and put the throttle stick to maximum position.
3.)Now connect the ESC to the battery.
4.)The motor should beep a 1 2 3 beep followed by two short beeps. Immediately after the two short beeps, put the throttle stick down all the way, the motors should make 3 short beeps (representing the 3 cells of the battery) and then finally make a 1 long beep, indicating that the throttle range has been set (calibrated).

Total weight now with 4S 4000 battery but without landing gear is 1492g.

OK so i hooked it up to the battery for the 1st time! Works as intended
Had to make another throttle calibration as they didnt start at the same time.

OK so im getting really close now. Waiting for propellers (10x4.5) to arrive as i ordered the wrong ones from HK.
The weight will be abit more then i first thought, so with battery close to 1700g.

Nice spherical canopy! Where did you get one ?
