So that puts the shaft maybe 20mm above the foam centerline.
Why is everyone going to the trouble of embedding the stick?
Seems the high mount would help reduce prop mishaps too.

lol, more confusion...

IFly - kits should be available soon. Motors should be here anyday. That's the delay.

The confusion stems a bit from the difference in building styles between people.

Some folks like to do their own thing, which is fine.

The pink mount will work just like the "old" mount.

So I'm going to need to go to HobbyLobby and buy a stick I guess.

Is 7x6e going to be the goto prop? For 2s and 3s?

Would that suggest a narrower prop slot?

And cut down the motor shaft and use a prop adapter?

* I know - jumping the gun with these questions.
Excited and ready to pull the trigger.

I don't think this manly man will buying any "PINK" motor mounts. I'll wait until you have light red.

7x6 for 3S..
9x5 for 2S..

Prop slot dimensions are going to have to be reworked, obviously. If you plan on only running a 7x6, the slot can be trimmed to 8".

Motor shaft won't need to be cut. Just use a 3mm adapter.

You can hit them with some Easy Off (NOT the environment friendly version) and it'll eat the anodizing right off the mount and you'll have a snazzy silver one. Ever more blingy if you want to take the time to polish it.

Hey, I know a lot of you guys have tried Welder's glue and love it but I'm just now discovering how great this stuff really is. I've used it on several small repairs around the house with success, but yesterday I tried it on something a bit bigger. My oldest daughter moved to Brooklyn with her boyfriend. They both graduated from college in December and decided they wanted to move to NYC to pursue careers. They are living in a 1 bedroom apartment ($1400/month) and neither has found a job yet. Anyway, she wants me to sell her car for her since she doesn't need it up there so I spent yesterday detailing it before posting it on Craigslist. The rear bumper had a crack in it so I decided to try using Welder's to make the repair. It frigging worked! I really didn't think it would have the strength to hold, but it worked like a charm. I'll be using Welder's a lot more in my builds from now on.
