Hobbies in the Hills (Castle Hill, NSW) Closed Down

FYI,

I went to Hobbies in the Hills today (15/06/2014) and they had a notice up saying they are closing down and it was their last day of trading.

The owner sites competition from the internet as his reason and I guess there's plenty of truth there.

I can't say I'm surprised as i could see the stock levels falling by the month, however i am going to lament not having a local HS to go to for the small hardware bits and consumables.

That's a shame although it has to be said the guy always looked like his backside had healed up, even when they were up the road.
Not many hobby stores left in northern Sydney now.

Not many stores left in Sydney, period. Kellets at Liverpool is now my closest decent store and I'm out at Richmond

Cheers,
Rob

The little HobbyLand shop in Hornsby is ok and the staff there are friendly and active in the local club (HEMFG) so are knowledgable.

I've been told there is a shop in Penrith/St Marys which is also decent.

There are two stores in St Marys, Graham's Hobby Center I won't ever set foot in again, the owner is an arrogant SOB and last I was there they didn't have much for me anyhow. (I fly freeflight and scratch build).

The other has knowledgeable staff but is quite small with limited stock.

I'll have to check if Hornsby is any closer than Liverpool, thanks.
