Whew! So much to do, so little time!

Thanks askman! (And thanks for you help with my research)

In between breathing moments with the client work I'm doing (I got THREE new jobs since the last "new" job! This IS a good thing as it pays the bills, but not when it comes to RC kits...

First about the website... ALL CLEAR and up an running... (most of this stuff is over my head so I can't really explain... my host is a dear friend and couldn't find why some of the servers were flagging my site as being infected... some did and some didn't. He finally handed it over to a specialist who found it! (It was "dormant" whatever that means), but there was (as in past tense), there... so no we're clean and up and running again... some new videos, pages and info as well...

Now about the EyePods... The demand was greater than I expected so I created new platinum based silicone molds to pour high temp filled vacuum bucks... enough to fit my larger 18" x 30" vacuum former... Here's a video of it producing pilot/cockpit and clear canopy moldings for my ICON kit:

ICON Production Vacuum Forming (1 min 21 sec)

With the new vacuum form bucks I'll be able to keep up with orders... Also just received a new shipment of boxes and ordered almost a half ton of sheet plastic (as in 1,000lbs!). I'll try to fit in some production over the holidays and hopefully have kits to ship the beginning of the year... Over seas shipments are not a problem (do it all the time), and if you have friends that want them as well, I can easily place more than a few kits in a special box to save shipping fees.

(I'm kind of taking one of those very rare breaks... I'm exhausted and making mistakes on my client prototype so that's when I stop, Tresa's baking carrot cake, Kylas home from college for the winter break but just went out with friends, we just finished decorating our tree (yeah, kind of late at least for us it is... but it's up and sparkling... Christmas music playing and I'm on the kitchen computer...

Just ordered two new HD cameras (a GoPro 2 and an interesting find... a JVC with TONS of features for only $179... Yes, the VISTA project is coming as well as some more AP craft and mounts...

Also completing the wing cutters for the DaVinci speed wing (If you go to that thread over in the electric sailplane forum, I posted a video of the foam wing blank cutter... smooooth and clean! interesting to see in action...

I'm also looking forward to starting the build thread for the Raptor Mini AP (Which has a built in EyePod mount in the nose... pretty sure I posted videos of it here?)

Just in case:

UAV kit, indoor flying with onboard footage (1 min 1 sec)

If you'd like to be placed on our mailing list, the best place to contact me is through www.jarelaircraftdesign.com (The site is clean and up and running once again! Tresa's working on a set up for incoming emails so that I can send out an update/newsletter sharing the availability of kits, production status and development status for new kits along with links to where more info can be found... Hopefully this will be up and ready right after Christmas.

Hope this helps you understand where I've been and what's going on... all good stuff although a little slower than I'd like, but all pointing and providing for movement in the right direction.

If I don't come back before then, Have a great holiday guys!

Best,
Richard

Hi Willhappy,

If you like that one, wait until you get a look at the VISTA... Just finished ordering booms for it... VERY modular, choice of wings, modular nose sections for different cameras and mounts and a sliding wing saddle designed to provide instant CG correction based on what gear you're sending up...

Now if I could only get some time to work more on it...

Still finishing up my last client prototype project and landed three more earlier this week! EEEEEK! The cash flow sure helps and I love what I do, but (AND!) I'd love to get some of these new kits completed, build threads, plans and parts...

By the end of this week, I'll have restocked a few hundred pounds of liquid plastics, platinum silicone for making molds, metal filled casting resin for vacuum form bucks and literally a half ton of sheet plastic... (A bunch more stuff in the materials category including a new modeling board whose sample caught my attention enough to buy a 2"X 19" x 60" plank for $325... Yeah... I'm serious about loving what I do! LOL!

Sigh... not enough time or maybe3 I need a couple of clones! LOL!

I'm going to take Christmas Eve and Christmas day off though... Maybe a little early off tomorrow... Tresa's off tomorrow until Monday and God I love spending time with her whenever I can!

Keeping an ear out for a tractor trailer Semi to drop off the plastic... My ears perk up every time I hear a large truck outside...

By the way, the new EyePod molds came out great... I need to cast the vacuum bucks in them but it's about 18 degrees where I am and the heat is out in the shop... The Studio's heat/air conditioning is tied in with the house and the fumes from this high temp resin just permeate the entire house if I cast them in there... I've got the resin cans inside hoping for a break in the cold and a pair of propane heaters in the shop just in case!

Ok... time for dinner and a break.

Thanks for the kind words about the Dragonfleye (website home photo) Did you see the video clip in the video gallery? It was designed for a client wanting super slow flight with a top speed of 60mph, collapsible and capable of 45min to 1hour flights... They liked it, but their client (application) fell through so now it just hangs in the shop with all the other prototypes and hanger queen photo ships...

Aaaack! Last call for dinner! I gotta go!

Talk with you later!

Best,
Richard

NEW DESIGN! And Back in Stock!

Well, it's not really new... I shared photos of the concave aerodynamic version of the EyePod Camera Mount, but for whatever reason, I forgot to produce it!

Basically this version of thee aerodynamic EyePod has a concave back instead of the previous flat back. This provides great mounting on curved fuselages like many of the scale foamies, Radians etc... (photos attached....)

Assembly is practically the same as our other EyePod designs and I've posted photos of how it's built. Also photos of the new concave aerodynamic design as mounted on some of your favorite planes.

We now have three EyePod designs:

Standard (rectangular, flat back)
Aerodynamic (tear drop with flat back)
Aerodynamic (concave with a concave fusealge mounting back.)

Price for each is $9.95

After being back ordered for some time, I'm also happy to announce that we are back in stock! All new metal vacuum forming tooling has been completed and Tresa has gotten into the act by trimming, sorting and packing boxes.

Also new are our boxes! I found one slightly larger than the original which allows us to ship two of any style in one box. Shipping is still the same for two so you save shipping on one!

If you have any questions just post them here (I'm sure if one of you has a question, there are others who do as well, but just not asking... Or email us to get on our newsletter

Best!

Richard

Your web site itself may have been fixed but I'm still getting this warning about it:-

"This web page at www.jarelaircraftdesign.com has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences. Attack pages try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system. Some attack pages intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners."

Following the acompanying button link for "Why was this page blocked?" reveals an explanation and brief history of the problems and also links to

http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ and http://www.google.com/support/webmas...y?answer=45432

which I gather the webmaster now needs to use to request an updated review of thier site, presumably aimed at removing the (now out of date) attack page warning.

Thanks, I'll pass this on to my webmaster...

At first we both thought there wasn't anything on the site, but after further investigation there was one page that was infected... The ENTIRE SITE has been dismantled, all pages filtered, cleaned and approved by ALL (including google And the agency that they get their information from)... Seems there are several agancies/groups that do nothing but filter, find and warn others about these kinds of problems... I wished I knew more about this kind of stuff... too much other information taking space in my brain. I will cut and paste your post in an email to send to my friend in charge... SInce the fix, you're the only person who has reported this and visits the site have at one point increased by over 1000%...

Best,
Richard

I just checked it and my Kapersky AV is still showing it as infected.
Now, that may be because Kapersky has found to be bad once and retained info about your site being an evil place to be...?
I want to order 1 or 2 of the camera domes so I check it out on another computer to see if it still does it.

That may be the case as after he cleaned up the site the first time, prooved it was clean, there were still a couple of companies that took a long time to upgrade my site to "clean"...

My tech has got the information and is checking it out...

Wished I knew more/understood at least a little! LOL more about this stuff... I was just never a "computer person"... I work with my hands... LOL!

PS: if you want to order anything and bypass the RC website, check out my "real" company website at:

www.jareldesign.com

Just enter What you want (example: DaVinci Order!) in the subject box... I'll tell Tresa what's going on and to keep an eye out for orders that come directly to my "Jarel Design" website

Hope that helps?

Getting Married! =D

Hi Guys,

So sorry I have been so absent here. I know I’ve shared how my client prototype work has just been incredibly busy over the past year. I don’t know if I shared that Tresa and I have been engaged for over two years and have not had the time of funds to “set the date”…

Well, It’s finally happened and we will be leaving for Maui, Hawaii on March 6th! She has always been so supportive, bringing meals, drinks, smiles and hugs to me in the studio as I worked the nights away (especially when she hears me “not having fun”)…

She’s stepped in lately helping me with my backlog of kit production, trimming parts, collating hardware, printing plans, packing kits and lately, taking care of communications regarding orders, creating labels and getting everything ready for me to ship out…

She has always deserved being treated like a princess and I am finally in a position to give back…

We will be getting married on a beach in Maui on March 9th and returning March 20th.

I have all current paid orders by the door ready to be shipped to day…

If there are any of you who want to order anything, please email her and be prepared to send payment by tomorrow night so that she can prep everything for shipping on Monday. We will not be able to receive or process any orders after tomorrow night. (I’m still completing another client project that is due to be shipped out on Monday and I have done so little to prepare for our trip.

With the exception of the DaVinci (6 kits left since prepping more than 24 a couple of weeks ago!), stock for everything else is still “ok” (unless we receive a sudden burst of orders. LOL!).

I already have another client project scheduled to begin when I return, but all other efforts on my part will go into completing two new bodies for the HH Blade MQX, creating a build thread for the Raptor UAV aerial photography drone and the new DaVinci Slope ship.

Just wanted to share the great news, explain why I will be completely absent here (for a while at least) and why you will not receive any email replies after Monday March 5th.

Thank you all for your patience and support!

Best Always,

Richard
