Question
Old 8 and 10 Rx's

I think I recall, Jim, that you said the 8 and 10 channel Rx's should be retired. But not said in those words. Is that true and if so why?

Also are all the nano's software, update capable with XDP?

To get the 7 plus channels should I master-slave nano's or use nano and 10x expander? My Tx's have only 9 anyway.

I know that without the 10x expander I don't get the telemetry, the voltage of which I am only interested in. Some day I may want other information.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Tom

The 8 and 10 channel receivers were discontinued about 3 years ago. They were replaced with the Nano, which is a receiver with a longer range, better cost, and more channel output possibilities (using multiple receivers).

The X10+ was designed for systems that need heavy duty power to the servos. I personally use them now in all of my setups with a single or dual Nano.

You don't get telemetry with anything except the original 8/10 channel receivers or RFU. The X10+ has nothing to do with the telemetry capability.

There is nothing to worry about with the older 8 and 10 channel receivers, they don't have the range of the newer receivers. They are fine for normal flying at a flying field,.

Am I correct Jim???

Thanks, Darren

Correct. The original 8/10 channel receivers are great. They are just older technology. I still have my big F-16 jet (was turbine, converted to electric) that I fly with a 10 channel receiver.

Well then that settles that. And thanks. Does it make sense to send back the three I cannot download the latest firmware to, to have them updated? I like being able to see the flight pack voltage. Also does the nano and x10 together have the capability of flight pack voltage feedback?

Only the RFU has voltage telemetry.

You never have to upgrade any of our products. The updates are just to add features.

I'm confused. I have several 8 and 10 XPS Rx's and I get the voltage readout on my Aurora 9 Tx. I don't own an RFU.

Of the current lineup only the RFU offers voltage telemetry, the nano's do not. The 8 & 10 ch did.
