I'm looking at the Acromaster as my second 3D plane. I have a few 40C 2200mah batteries from my Stryker, so I'm hoping to use those. Can someone take a look at my components here and let me know if anything is off? Thanks!

Batteries: SkyLipo 2000mah 3S 40C
Motor: FirePower 15 from HeadsUpRC - 135g (55oz thrust on 11x5.5E prop, 69oz on 12x6E)
ESC: EFlite 40A Pro
Tail servos: EMAX ES08MA x2
Aileron Servos: TP MG90 14g

Specs on everything look to be very good--IMO it will work great on the AM! Not familiar with the servos but the specs compare well to the servos that I would choose (HS-82/85 for the R/E, HS-65 for the ailerons).

I have the e-flite power 15, Castle 50A, and HS 85 MG's X 4. All is good, plenty of power, I am pulling 35AMPS with 12x6 prop. Almost went HS65's in aile's but 3D buddys said they were too small........my stryker is pulling 49AMPS WOT with the eflite 40A ESC, no problem so far

yak 54

just been out with my yak 54 by Gene Bond, this really is a gr8 plane. nice and stable and capable of reasonably slow flight into a headwind, but ramp up the throttle and she hums. capable of all 3D manouvres she's just brilliant. only mod i made was to change the fuze from single profile to "X" style profile for more rigidity. of course i braced the wings on leading edge and across their middle span and also added some braces to the fuze sides. i'd recommend this model to anybody with a little experience, quite easy to fly if you're not too adventurous but also fast enough for the experienced flyer. i take my hat off to Gene Bond, gr8 design.

Good to know. Maybe I'll go with the heavier duty servos in the tail as well, I just don't want to mess up the CoG.

The tail servos are NOT in the tail on this ship.

Rather they are on the sides of the fuse under the wing and only an inch or so behind the CoG.

I hope that helps,
Eric

Hi,

bought me a Acromaster a few days ago. It will be my birthday present for july from my wife.
But i bought it now to have enough time to build it like i want without the "pressure" of "want to fly the next day"

Nice Kit. Very good packaging. Good fit of the Foam.

I sanded down the hole thing. Was the first plane from elapor i did this. I think it was worth the work. the color stick very good.

I will use a Turnigy SK 3 3542- 1250 KV motor, 11 x 5,5 prop, a turnigy trust 55A ESC and HK Servos.

Looks spectacular! Nice Job. Right now Im sanding all the little bumps off the canopy before painting. Not sure if its really worth the time. I might use some of those "temporary tattoos" for graphics. Works on fiberglass, not sure about the foam.

Hi, i Sand down the hole plane. It is better With the small nips. But You still can still See Them. even after painting. But it is much better With stickers.

I Made New checkered stickers Today and sticked them on the plane.

I just bought this plane today and i noticed that people have been having problems with vibrations when flying. Is this a consistant issue among all the Acromasters? Also, what causes their vibration and how do you fix it?

THanks!
Travis

The vibration issue seems to stem from two areas...
1) Prop/motor balance
2) Weak nose structure/motor mount

Check out page 134 post 2000 of this thread for the fix I used.
Also,
Some folks are using metal motor mounts alone with good results.
Here's a link... http://www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the...ltiplex/Detail

Enjoy

Also, does the precut servo slots in the plain call for Hitec HS-81 size servos or T-Pro SG-90 size servos?

The MPX-recommended servos (and how the molded servo pockets are sized) is for HS-81 or HS-85 in the fuse for R/E, and HS-55 for the ailerons. However, I personally believe that the HS-55 is marginal at best with the huge ailerons. I would recommend a HS-65 or HS-65MG for those. HS-81 is adequate for the fuselage, but they're notorious for poor centering--unless you want to be chasing a changing pitch trim setting, I'd recommend the HS-85 or HS-85MG. Just my $.02--I've been very happy with my HS-65HB/HS-85 servos.
