Well, I broke down and bought the E-flite retracts and the pre-bent struts from HH. Not altogether too expensive. They come with a Y-cable and when you buy the struts along with the retracts, you get free shipping.

I did not realize I was going to have to need new struts for the LG... no big deal.

I am going to get the retracts, but cannot decide if I want to put them on the Scimitar or the Hurricane first... Anyone doing LED kits for this? I might wire something up myself, but not sure I want the work.

Isn't the correct answer both?

Both models require a few optional parts (new struts for Hurricane and retract covers and new nose strut for Scimitar) so it also depends on how quickly you get those. I'm putting the retracts into the Hurricane first because aesthetically it needs it.

What size 3 blade works on the Hurri if using 3s?

They provide a lift component acting behind the C-of-G, effectively making the tail 'lighter', encoraging the nose down.

Close the flaps as soon as you can as roll out on touch down.

.... I've found it a very effective tip.

I think that quote sums up the problem pretty well - until recently this plane was just too expensive. Nearly £300 list price here in the UK.
Didn't have the toys the competition includes as standard such as lights and retracts.
So not many Pilots found out that it was a great model, beautifully made and to top it all - flew superbly... because we didn't buy it.

It is now cheaper than the comparable size planes from the other mainstream suppliers, and we are all (now) jumping on the bandwagon and snapping up this bargain priced warbird.
Unfortunately it seems that it's a little too late to tell HH that we really like it and can we have it for $250?

It's now just us lucky ones (RCG readers) who will get to enjoy this one. (At affordable prices??)

I'm still waiting for a bit of decent weather here, and some free time when this weather arrives to set this one free in the skies where it belongs eh??

I just bought a Scimitar also, waiting for it to arrive. My second Hurricane from AH arrived today and my new props along with it
