But his is unmilled, he might want to go with the 9L for power? I was running a 15s on mine(but it was milled).

15S is actually too much power for F3P.

That is what is in mine , and it is very easy to fly too fast.
Mine is a V1 and weighs 114 grams w/o the battery. Is the V2 that much lighter?
Less paint? (Mine has gained ~4 grams over the years)

But if you want more 3D/ vertical performance then more power might be in order.

The idea behind the 9L would be to run a bigger prop to get better down line braking.
Scott Barnhart and (I think) Jamie Hicks were running them on their Excel V2, which have no drag brakes.

Thanks for the replies Tim & others.

With that said, I guess I will stay with the 9L. The prop that came with the v2 is a 8x4.3 gws. Sounds like I should go larger with a 9" GWS. 9x ??? pitch?
Keep in mind I am still a somewhat of a rookie in my mind & this is my first depron plane. I've been flying 3d foamies for a couple years & still working on my landings with my foam cessna 182 & flyzone switch before I attempt my 3d balsa planes.
Next question, what light weight receiver is suggested? I use a Futaba 7c radio.

The standard prop for the 9l is the 8x4.3. Searching I cannot find any data for it with a 9" prop. I would be careful and use a watt meter to do some testing first. I would hate to see you blow your motor.
It will fly fine with the 8" prop. The reason for going to a larger prop is for motor braking. Using the drag plates that come with the osiris you already have lots of drag.
If you try it, let us know how it works.

That's why went with the 1500kv, motor swinging a 9x4.3.. I removed the stock airbrakes and made custom smaller ones..

I flew the wings off it at indoor flying Sunday/food drive, In Babylon New York. Great group of guys, That enjoy some good flying..

Most of the guys were shocked at how well my custom Osora's flys! it's about a half inch shorter, and a Almost 2 inches narrower than a stock one.. It's a proper freestyle plane now..

Very nice. And great skills.

Do you use any type of rear spar or something where typically a rear wheel would be? I will be flying mine outside and concerned about tearing up the rear bottom....

I use a small tie-wrap (about 3mm wide and 1 1/2" long) glued directly onto the depron. Works great as a tail skid on concrete.

Here is a photo of the tie-wrap skid on a prototype plane. You can just make it out in the photo, but shows how I do it.
