Sneak Peak: SAB Heli Division Tri-Head

New innovations from SAB!!

Splash

Double motor, Double power, Tri-Head.

SAB has changed the helicopter world as we know it. With their innovative designs, they seem to always push the envelope for modern model helicopters.

The new HPS3 and the HPS2 rotor heads look to be top of the line for SAB. I'm personally looking forward with the end results as this is in testing phase, and no announcements for the release date yet. I could almost guess you will see more from SAB and this setup at IRCHA this weekend.

3-Bladed heads look to be a future selection for 3D pilots around the world. Its unique to see SAB adding an extra motor for extra power. I bet this thing will sound awesome! What do you think?

Features

  • High quality 2-3 bladed head systems.
  • Double motors assembly.
  • Designed for the Goblin Speed frame with modifications.
  • Nice anodized aluminum.

Too much focus on convincing people they need way more helicopter than they actually do.

Well they are in it to make money, thats a good way to do it.

Wonder if they will do a 3 blade head for the rest of their range?

That would eliminate the need for a tail rotor and rear boom entirely, making the heli much more compact.

In this case the two disks share a common transmission and the collective is biased toward the upper or lower disk to yaw in the opposite direction.

Belt? Maybe... I say that because it would help if one motors starts a tad early. It would have room to slip.

Sure, but how'd it govern the HS? Two motors, probably 2 escs I would've thought. Sure we'll find out in the fullness of time. Anyways, it's way too much heli for me, as was stated before!

External Gov would be required AFAIK, though the signal could come from one of the escs.

Hmm.. yea but it'd have to control two throttle signals... Have to be rewritten to take that into account.

Or maybe wait... I may be over thinking this. It is after all a speed heli. Maybe flat 100% is all it'llneed.

But what if the exact kV of the motors don't quite match exactly? No doubt they have all this thought of. Be interesting to see how it works in practice.
