Yesterday I flew the FW 190 8 outdoor

and after some trimming all went great.

Weight is 67g and without any dead weight she ballances fine.

Start from gras was no problem - landing on gras with the gear gave her a nose over.

Without the gear you have a nice belly lander.

Outdoor I use dual rate 85% - expo 30% on the aileron, 100% / 10% on ruder and elevator.

After doing some mods to my carbon cub it's now time to finish my FW 190 13 ...

I flew mine this afternoon!

Holy mother of wow, is this a fun little bird.

Rolf, you were absolutely right about the rates. I flew it off of grass with the gear and the drop tank and it felt like it wanted to nose over on turns. I hadn't added quite the throws you recommended at first, but I went back and added them and she flew like a much larger plane. It even came in kind of hard during one of the landings (it nosed over every time) and there was no damage whatsoever.

Flying it as a belly-flopper was a real blast. I'm thinking of some more aileron throw for that configuration.

Jon, you have a winner. A real winner. My review is going to reflect that, I assure you.

Rolf,

Thanks for the build hints.

What did you use to thin the UHU por adhesive?

Jon,

From these reviews I can't wait to finish mine. Looking forward to the Spitfire. More packages from the UK in my future!

Thanks,
John

You can thin UHU POR with gas for lighters, but make some tests because too much of thinning will reduce the adhesive power.

For example :

Flew my FW190 indoors in our large tennis dome today. It was like it was on rails, rolls were not a problem, tried a loop but roof height was only just enough to get over and recover. Flew with and without the wheels, but performance was better and looked superb without the wheels on. Looks great chasing the Parkzone spit and mosie around the hall.

Great stuff Kev, sorry I couldnt make it down this time but glad to see the Fw190 gave a stellar performance.

Spitfire prototype will definately be ready for the December session so, if all's well I'll be winging my way down for its first indoor flight test.

Of the Spit? - Of course. I hope to get the prototype build underway this week. Had a few weeks struggle to get over a nasty illness so there's been a bit of a delay but back in the saddle now!

Glad you're better and I can't wait to see the Spitty!

FYI, Jon: I'm getting raw video of the Fw-190 on Sunday, which means if all goes well, the review will be finished next week.

Very excited - picking up the sample sticker prints for the Spitfire tomorrow.

The airframe has been hand cut and ready to receive so should be able to build it up over the weekend - I'll take pictures & maybe some video too.

Here's a peek at the final poster artwork.

Very nice looking graphics for the Spit, Jon.

I did receive my FW yesterday. Not opened it yet but the box was all intact so I am sure all is good on the inside.

However I have a solution that does work.

Using the programming information for the AR6400 I first changed the second reversed aileron servo socket on the brick back to be channel 6. Then connected the servo input leads from the external ESC to the now channel 6 servo socket on the Spit's brick. I mixed channel 6 on my transmitter to throttle on my transmitter and I now have brushless power that works for the Spit's AS3X brick.

Now I can try and shoehorn the Spit's AS3X brick into my FW190

Kevin,

Does this allow you to use 2S on the BL ESC BEC?
