Getting started.

The first thing the plans call for is to get the decals on. It takes a bit of technique to look good as they are fragile when wet but it's a quick learn. As I am impatient a few are not pretty or scale but I'll still sleep at night.

The foam parts come out of the mold in pairs so it's a simple task to cut them off and file smooth.

Next, the builder must cut off the control surfaces and hinge them a lot like a balsa model that I am used to. No problems here.

could we have some photos of
1/ fan location (with fan in place)
2/ battery location (with pack in place)
3/ and the ducting.

thanks.

BTW,

1/ how big is the housing of the fan? can it
handle 36mm motor? or only 28mm motor?

2/ how big is the fan's adaptor ? 1/8'? or larger?

I'll get back with you on that with pics soon. I can tell you that the fan mount has a fore/aft provision to allow for CG change. Also, the battery compartment seems fairly large and will accomodate many sizes.
The only thing I don't like with the ducting at this point is that it seems that is glued on so fan access would involve cutting a glued joint...

Pehaps the manufacturer will step in here as I am reluctant to disassemble a factory balanced fan unit to check specs. The outside diameter is about 86mm...

Motor Specs.

The motor is 28mm(Diameter)39mm(Length) 2600kV , (Specifications are subject to change without notification). The Fan is patent pending, I was told, and since the fan is not available separately, it is better to leave the fan system alone, as it's glued to the shaft of the motor after it's factory balanced. Revs up to 30,000 on 4S, around 40A pulling about 1.0 Kg, almost 1:1 power to AUWeight ratio.

I'm not a fan of the F-16 but I have to say that's one darn fine looking model. That fan is interesting too. I like the way the wires are routed and secured to the housing.

Well after much talking to curt at easy tiger, the fan WILL NOT be made available to the public unless you buy the 16 or the new sabre. I think its a bad idea cause what happens if you ruin a fan??? I wanted to buy two to test on high watts. They look well built and the pitch doesnt look bad at all. Being 8 blades it will probably be more like the sickle fans. They sound wicked and really put out the power at a respectable amp draw similar to a HET fan.
What a shame though. He could be making more money off of these.

This is the most scale f-16 I have seen so far. Too bad it didnt retract those gear though. The shape is perfect though.

What is your overall impression thus far? Quality? Build? etc

I am no scale expert but does this mean it will be a handful to fly because it is so scale?

I'm not a big foamy fan but and this model looks too good to ignore as an F-16 lover. I have built and flown 40+ models since 1984 and completed two Famous F-16's in recent months. The Golden Eagle is way above that model in fit and finish. So far, I'm not sure what I would change given the chance (except perhaps gluing the duct but we'll see as I'm not there yet). All parts have fit perfectly and I have noticed great attention to detail. After building two full -scale hombuilt aircraft also, I find myself noting how difficult it would be to engineer some of the details on this thing. I'll be back building tonight. I'll take lots of detail pics when it's done...
