BTW, the only real tool needed is a digital pitch gage to set servo centers and of course the 6* and 12* collective settings. And I also used a digital caliper to confirm swash measurements at the 3 servo points.

The main problem with putting the BeastX on top is that it can get wacked by the blades in a crash. I've seen it happen.

jhroof,
Agreed as a buddy on mine cut a Futaba 401 nearly in half after a crash.

Interesting. On what heli?

I've seen gyros get whacked by flybars / paddles when mounted up there, but I've never seen it happen on a flybarless helicopter of any type.

Yeah it's basically protected by the anti-rotation bracket. It looks fine to me. Not sure why you would move it but it doesn't look like a problem.

It was a Trex 450. It did have a flybar though.

I did as you all suggested with the BeastX, and she fly's great.
Thanks again for all of your help.
Looks like my first one. I just got a new machine under warranty after the AR7200BX started twitching the cyclic servos and on the new machine the tail was binding with my JR. I fixed this in the beast setup E and I think everyone should check this on a new heli. I think my first tail servo may have had the same issue and only lasted 10 flights.

Concerning the top mounted BX, it's not in much danger of getting wacked. Flybars are the killers as stated previously.

My Blade 300x in AS350 Skin

The 300x was flying so fine I decided to add a scale body to it.
I bought a Darth micro heli polystyrene kit. The mechanics went in fairly easy
with just a couple minor adjustments. I was able to get the CG right by just
moving the battery pack forward on the mount. It still fly very nice and looks
cool in the air.

Couldn't resist any longer.. bought one today at the lhs.

Quite a bit of vibration at 1/4 throttle while spooling up.. Normal? Seems to go away at higher headspeed, on the stock woodies (figure i'd use them until my first crash). Haven't flown it yet, about to, anything to watch out for?

Just hovered her/tiny bit of FF, butter smooth once she spools past 1/8th throttle or so.
