So the update on the first outing...Despite the gusting conditions..

Blade spin up when held aloft seemed good, pulling to the right so some left dialled in. A couple of taxi runs and the second saw a lift which caught me out as it was only walking pace - probably the gusts. Throttle back and a bump down followed by the thrash of blades and a dump onto its side

No worries I thought but inspection showed a severed rudder at the base - blade strike ... my arrival and the 0.8mm head plate had allowed the blades to droop.

Investigation also the HK main head bolt had come loose!,,,

Never mind . All sorted now and an additional head plate disc installed to give more blade droop stiffness... Roll on next weekend

Steve,
I have had a few 'issues' with the HK heads and now always tighten every nut and drop a dab of cyno on top. Our Chinese cousins must be a bit weak!

You were brave going out for a maiden in the wind today! I stopped in the warm!

Steve,
Very nice, a bit of a better day for it today ...maybe get 2 into the air?

I have just started Whippit No2 as I was missing a few build photos, I am thinking of a Red Baron theme, with of course twin Spandau machine guns

Thanks for the video Rich, great fun and definately a good starter model for conversion to the dark side !! .

I have some more foam left over so i think a variation on this to another profile is on the cards - time to get looking.......
