"Yes the wing ribs are all built up"

Wing ribs? Are you sure they aren't fuselage longerons?

Those are way cool. I'd love to see them fly.

I'm off to look at the thread...

This is my current Ugly Stik project, as a build-log in 'Balsa Builders' forum. Fifty one ounces as shown but when less engine.

Time for some silk and dope

Wow! I was just getting ready to post my Stik. Mine is a Big Stik 60. I found a kit online. The plans were as bad as a Dead Sea Scroll. But a little scotch tape and a lot of laminating film later, it was good to go.

Pat's Balsa USA 1/3 Fokker Dr.1 Dreidecker

This dreidecker was built by my friend Pat. As one of the more seasoned members of our club, he's still learning the whole computer/internet thing (is it just a fad anyway?) so I'm posting these photos for him.

The dreidecker was built from the 1/4 scale Balsa USA Fokker Dr.1 kit. Pat is building it with pull-pull cable for both the rudder and elevator. Covering will be light weight Dacron (sourced from Aircraft Spruce) and Balsarite. A DLE-30 gas engine will haul it around.

Geez I do like DR1's but like you said in the picture, it takes time and patience to build one of them. I'll get to one of them one day.

Your friends DR1 looks great.

Just a time to chime in and say I watch this thread every couple of days and for all those who submitted stuff since my last comment it's always special. This page today has me pretty fired up so I had to compliment everyone but it's always a fine thread. My best Regards Cliff

Senior Sassy scratch-build, scaled up from a 100 watt model I built last year.
Power is an E-Flite 25 on a 3S3000 pack, span is 48.5" and weight should be around 48 oz.

Haven't finalized the color scheme, yet, but expect it'll be white with a mix of blue, red, and yellow trim as I have lots of those colors on hand!

CD

p.s. No, Robart doesn't make red stands -- I repainted mine after it got oversprayed several times when used as a paint stand.
