Yippee!
Disc Golf anyone?

I play Disc Golf here in central N.C.

PM me if you are going to be out this way, everyone "cool" welcome. No holes and attitudes welcome.

A lot of fun, and some beautiful courses around.

By the way, since I fly my discs in a FF fashion, should I put my name, AMA #, and address on them?

Hi from Tennessee!

www.knoxvillediscgolf.org

Not as much a struggle as ball golf, and for the price of a box of pro-brand balls I can buy 2 Innova Pro discs!!

Wish I could do all the tricks now that I could do 30 years ago with a plain 'ol frisbee, maybe it'll all come back.

With a good attitude, it can be fun for ANYONE.
Disc Golf has its own set of tricks to master, just like ball golf.
Another great thing is that it doesn't cost anything to play, unlike ball golf!

I've been playing for about four years now.
This sport has been around since the late 1970's.

Check out this website for more information on Disc Golf.

If anyone is in the Wilmington area, there is an awesome course at that Castle Hayne Park. I've never played on such a nice course.

Nice Disc Golf Course

There's a nice, scenic Disc Golf course just outside The Resort Village of Manitou Beach in central Saskatchewan, Canada. I live here and the course is owned by a buddie of mine named Murray Gordon. If anybody is ever out this way, he'd love to connect.

I've designed a different type of spinning flyer called Skyaak. Not like a disc that spins vertcally, Skyaak spins horizontally. Just popped in to say hi.

Michael.

There used to be 2 courses in Raleigh, one in Zebulon, one in Rocky Mount, one in Wilson, and one in Greenville.

I haven't played the Raleigh courses, but have friends that have.

That was a long time ago, I haven't played in ages.

There are 5 or 6 courses within an hour drive from my house. I have been playing for about 5 years. Tons of young people playing in Vancouver.

I just picked it up (18 yr old) thanks to my brother.
Actually just bought my first disc yesterday from Dick's. An Innova Pro Orc, flourescent yellow, 168g. I threw it a little yesterday, and a little more today. REALLY like it.
There's a course about a half hour north in Norwalk, and another in Tiffin. Norwalk is nice, but I'm not sure about Tiffin.

I throw "underhand" I get about 150% more distance than an overhand shot.

You place your hand under the disc with your middle finger on the inside of the lip, your 1st finger supports the underside of the disc and your thumb is on the top of the rim. Pull it back behind your right side (left for lefties) rip it as straight as possible past your hip and flick it off of your middle finger to give it spin. For driving I take 2 steps during the throw.

Try it, you'll like it.
