Oh for sure in this video it didn't but that's cuz it's the only one I had before battery died in gopro. in the past it usually was at least 3 ft. off the ground. I had just gone outside and figured out how to put gopro up to film. Started to bounce around like you see then shortly after it was up a few feet maybe 3 and I was making some trim adjustments and that's when zoooooom. I do understand ground effect. Should of just went to the park like I had planned instead of trying some here and going later. My loss.

Ok now that I'm over my kamikaze flight I'm down to one battery. Was waiting till I got better at flying before investing in more batteries. Since I intend on mounting a gopro to it I'm thinking I'll need more juice and I do want more than 6-8 mins flying time. So question to those with knowledge. Should I go with 4000 or 5000 or run two 2200's hooked together? Trying to think of options.

Balanced props and flew. Very cool windy out. 8 - 10 steady, gusts to 12 or so. I wanted to see if balancing props made a difference before I started adjusting P I D settings as recommended by Witespy. Plus, it is too windy to really know how it will effect the quad I think if the wind is too high.

Flew well in stable mode in the wind. See video.

With auto level on it did fly but again, with a 10 mph wind, you have to give it forward stick (if facing in the wind direction) to keep it from drifting. It takes a ton of forward stick to do this and the quad doesn't like it so it fights back to be level. So, should I go lower than 9 or just not fly in winds this high, or just not use auto level in high winds? Witespy published a video of him flying in very high winds in auto level mode.

I still have that surging even after balancing the props so I will start to make some adjustments. Witespy posted a recommendation.

could see the wind in the trees back there. Did a good job though considering. Suppose to be breezy tomorrow. Not sure if I should attempt again. Found more screws on legs loose. I'm thinking loctite blue if I'm correct. Didn't want to use until the screws arrive and I fully extend legs. Was just worried since it seems heads strip easily.

Will run down and get some today. What's your thoughts on batteries. 6-8 mins is ok while learning but want longer time later. Only one battery left. So to get one or two more 3300, 4000, 5000?

I put a 5000 in yesterday. It flew no problem even with a 5 oz camera.

Ahhhh, I didn't keep track but after about say 5 min, I still had 3.9 volts per cell. Flew another 4-5 minutes I think and still had 3.78 or so. I will do it again to find out. I also have a big 6500 pack I will try. It is a Max Amps 6500 150c discharge pack. Witespy says it will work and I know it will hold the weight no problem.

yeah stable mode + wind = not so good.... in wind you need it in acro mode to counter the wind when it starts to drift.... on a clam day its nice to see it sit there hands off in stable mode... and nice for AP as well...

Could also be a battery with a C rating too low for the surge. Is this a new 25c lipo?

Good call on the C rating but these are new 20-30C rated packs. I think better than the 2200 Zippy pack that was shipped. I will fly it with my huge 150c pack and see what it does. Will have to be in a couple days. Darn wind here in Fort Worth, TX is gusting to 40!
