My black tail assembly came without grease on the thrustbearings.
First flights on my Nightfly 450.... Super!

Tail feels smooth on control and the tailservo has a lower temperature after 6 minutes soft-3D.

Highly recommended upgrade!

I'm glad to hear you like it as well.

Interesting to hear that there is no grease in the thread bearing. Could they have been lightly oiled? It's probably all that's required. I didn't remove my bearings to check the thrust bearings. I just put a small drop of scorpion motor oil into the thrust bearing, when I had the hub removed.

The Tail Rotor Hub mounts to what size shaft?

Blade 400 tail shaft is 3 mm and Blade 450 tail shaft is 4mm ,just trying to decide how much trouble to adapt this one to a Blade 400.

3mm, as used on all the Align 450's.

Thanks that should make it super simple as long as the geometry ,ball size etc. are the same. The Tarot is inexpensive enough to make it a worth while upgrade for the Blade 400. I have the e Flite aluinum tail grips on mine but they do not use thrust bearings. I have a spare Blade 450 tail which I could fit to the 400 but would require more work.

I've always thought the Blade style forked control arm was a much less sloppy way to move the slider than the Align arm, acting on a linkage ball on one side of the slider. A similar arrangement on my Caliber 50 nitro heli has virtually zero slop.

Thanks for the link. $8 plus $1.50 so slow boat shipping but should be here in a month or so perhaps. Right now the Blade aluinum tail grip assembly with fresh bearing in it is doing great and now that I have replaced the DS75 cyclics with HS 5065MG on my 450 I will likely be flying it more than the 400.

Perhaps it is just a mind thing but the 450 just feels more solid in flight even if the 400 does have more power. B400 has a B 450 motor in it and the 450 has a 400 motor in it. Need to decide which one to put my Scorpion 2221-8 back into.
