Albee troller

This is a project I started about four years ago and it has been on the shelf since then. A fellow teacher owned this boat and I liked the look of it so started to build the model. Because all the deck details I had built until then were attached with double-sided tape, dis assembly was quite easy. I will try to document the finishing of the model. The basic hull came from Ron Burchett and the rest was scratch built by taking pictures of the real troller and scaling them up to the hull length. The real chore will be to build the set of gurdies to this scale. Jerryj98501

Thanks, those are the trolling poles and they are spread out to spread the lines holding the fishing lures. The gurdys drop and pull the fishing lines and canon balls on the lower spread of the lines hold the lures down for fishing. Jerryj98501

I don't know about that Keith, sorry to hear that the pond is not going to be available for Fish Expo. I just realized that during that time period we will be in Bend OR so couldn't go anyway. The gurdies are going to be the the strangle point but I guess I could just build a covered replica with a tarp if they don't work out, several ideas from Tom so will pursue with the build. Like you I do like the looks of the fishing boats. Jerryj98501

Back to the upgrading. First, I decided I needed to change the area I work on in the "craft room" inside the house. I have been working on the front four inches of the desk for the last six months and that needed to change. Purchased a four foot table, made a shelf for it and inventoried all the plastic materials. The kits went to the storage area in the shop. I moved the small lathe and drill press inside also. Now I have a larger area to work in and it is warm. Jerryj98501

Some additional pictures of the update. Gluing up a length of stock for the brackets and then using the cut off model saw to cut off segments seems to work out quite well at this scale. Jerryj98501
