Well, reality is starting to set in. My wife and I have been in Singapore since Sunday morning. We have successfully found a place that we will call home for the next 3-5 years. We were also able to get my son enrolled in the American School over here.

Now comes the fun of coming back home to pack up, put the house up for rent and sell my wifes car all before we make the move at the end of July in time for his school to start.

This truly will be a new start and an opportunity of a life time.

I am also looking forward to sailing with the guys in the Singapore RC Sailing group. I am going to show these fellas what a Nirvan can do. LOL

Will write again soon.

Another MMBC Nirvana

So quiet here. I ventured out in today's 100+ heat index for a quick maiden voyage with my refitted Nirvana. Pearly white hull and a fancy genoa made for a fun hour for the Cayenne. I stopped and bought a Mr Clean eraser sponge and another can of Rusto paint in case I have a future run in with the black boat that's been seen around here lately.

If the weather will not allow me to go out and sail, I can watch Americas Cup Racing on TV. These multi hulls really scream across the water.

I will be in Newport sailing on a big boat in two weeks. Looking forward to taking my boats with me so when we are on the mouring, I can get the Nirvana out.

Missed Club Fun Float - Sailed at Sub Float...

Hey Team Nirvana, just catching up on the scuttle butt... ^_^

So, far Hurricane Season 2012 is looking plentiful in the wind & rain department where I live. All the rain has filled all our local ponds & creeks to over the brim in most of my fav sailing spots.

Even though I missed last month's Fun Float, I managed to sail Blue during the Sub Float that next weekend. Sailing at SubComm DEEP SOUTH's current pond is a testament to all the rainfall we've received in the last 6 weeks...

Up to June 2012, I had not considered sailing at the Sub Float pond since it's been so shallow. I did bring Blue after I heard that the pond level was high, sorry I only got the one patio picture. The wind conditions were too dodgie to snap pictures & sail at the same time...

I'll make up for it with some TS Debby flood pictures of the creek near my neighborhood. Luckly I didn't have doggie paddle durring any of the storms... ^_^

Happy RC Sailing,
Doug

Now comes the dog days of summer heat... T_T

New sail.

New to the board but have been sailing Victor boats for many years. I need everything from the deck up for my Nirvana. SUV tailgates can be very unforgiving. I e-mailed Sailrc on 6/23 and still no answer so I'm looking elsewhere.
Thanks for any help, JIm

Have you called Steve? He is on the road a lot but he always gets back to customers.
Are the items you need on his web site? If so you can order them online.

Just got back from a two week holiday, covering New Brunswick in Canada, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine (Old Orchard Beach).

Beautiful country, love the Adirondacks.
Rained for 6 days, Debby's influence I guess.

Couldn't take my boat along, the little Honda product was stuffed full as it was.
Too bad, saw some great ponds and lakes.
Must have been suffering from sailing withdrawal too, since I went sailing down at the cement pond yesterday from 12 noon to 9 PM.
Conditions were perfect and I couldn't tear myself away. Old friends kept dropping in etc.

Getting very hot here too, 32-33 degrees C and humid, mostly sunny very little rain.

John, glad to hear you're still showing up for breakfast.

Sails

Hey Boomer,
I e-mailed Theresa on 6/23 and heard back from her the next day. She forwarded the mail to Steve. His site has some of what I need but not all. Due to the stiffness of my fingers I had asked the question if he could put things together for me so all I would have to do is plug and play(so to speak). I live about 25 miles from Steve in Nashville I could drive over if need be.
