Rebuilding my Radian Pro
I was given a pretty beat up Radian Pro by friend it had been crashed an very poorly repaired had been sitting in my garage for quite a while and it was about to meet the trash can, when talking to my friend George he inspired me to use my imagination and repair it. Since I already own a Radian Pro I got the idea to turn this one it into a pure glider no motor.
As you can see things were in bad shape one for the flaps was completely broken in half. The hinge tape had become so brittle that the flaps fell of the wings.
I started by gluing the two halfs of the flap with gorilla glue, once it dried I sprayed M77 glue on top and bottom and added a piece of fiber reinforced tape to give it strength. I finished the surfaces with color packing tape

Next the wings.
One of the wings had a piece missing so I found a piece of scrap foam and glued to it once dried I sanded it to shape (best I could).
I used balsa filler to fill all the other dents and small holes in the wings and sanded the whole wing. I forgot to take pics of the wings showing the balsa filler.
For added rigidity, next I added a piece of fiber reinforced tape to the top and bottom of each wing running the whole length of the wing. I used masking tape so I could keep a straight line, I sprayed the wing with M77 and laid the tape on it without pulling to avoid any deformation.
I gave the whole wing one more light spray of M77 and covered it with color packing tape. For the bottom I also used a pattern design packing tape for added visibility.
Next I re-hinged the flaps using M77 and blenderm tape.

OK so the next step was going to be reconditioning the fuselage and adding a nose cone to it. However after careful examination the fuse had to much damage and it was very poorly glued so it had to be scraped.
I could purchase a new fuse, nah... instead George and I decided to build a custom wood fuse for the wings. Will update with pics of the fuse build hopefully soon!
