GPS Navigation for Small Airplane.

Does anyone make a GPS system with waypoint navigation for a small airplane?

That would be nice for AP but I donít want to spend a fortune either.

I don’t want an OSD or FPV system. I want something that will autonomously fly the airplane to several waypoints, take photos, and fly back so I can them take control back and land.

You might want to look up Icebears work in the UAV forum for some inspiration.

I have not yet selected the airplane but it will be EP in the 2 to 2 1/2 lb range (3 lb max with A620 camera).

What you're asking for is an autopilot. Go to the blog of Kbosak and look at his flexipilot and EasyUAV. Also look at Attopilot since you are in the US.

And if you are on a budget there is the Arduino Ardupilot if you are willing to experiment and are good as soldering!

Thatís, thatís exactly what I was looking for. It has many nice features at a reasonable price.

Does RC Groups have any good threads on the subject?

I can't wait until there is a GPS based system that weighs around 10g, so I can use it on my ultra-micro J-3.

I have seen comments that the GPS modules are very fragile. Is there really a problem or is their just one guy that is bashing them?
