Hey... guess what. The brushed motor by itself weighs 120g..... and so does the Parkzone brushless... identical.

Gearbox v's prop adapter isn't worth worrying about as the all up weight difference in this case is the weight of a EC3 power plug.
The point I was making is that my plane is around 250/300 grams heavier and it all handles like a dream . Get the balance point at 60mm and it will handle a lot more weight and still be a pussycat. I have been flying with one of our RCGroup from Scotland in the last week, who is visiting NZ. He flies FPV with his cub, flight battery, FPV battery, 2 to 3 cameras and floats underneath. His cubby flies sweetly too.

My twin cub obviously runs 2 motors, 2x 50amp esc's and 350g of 4s battery...
If anyone wants a peek at Supercub with 10x factory power and big weight increase...
Twin Hobbyzone Supercub 1000W+ (1 min 39 sec)

Thanks 2spicy, for all your help and hospitality while here on my hols!
Great to see your much modified cubs disappearing vertically into the heavens and ghosting in for landings-amazing stuff
Here's a few shots from our fly today in the beautiful NZ countryside.
Shame the camera failed so no fpv footage -damn @ blast

BTW, that's a lot of "motor/components" you got in that "light" aircraft, wouldn't you say?

Mike.
I am currently painting my plane so it is dissembled. Once I put it back together, I'll take a photo.

I agree, the prop/motor assembly is definitely heavier than stock. And with the heavier battery, the CG is balanced but doesn't "float" as well as it used to. It needs more speed coming in for a landing because if I just cut the throttle and try to float it down like the stock cup, it would just fall vertically.

Hey cm, I did a mod to help strengthen the nose section. Pretty simple. I ran two wood dowels down each side of the plane from the firewall all the way back to where the servos are located. Then I used "White" Gorrilla Glue to hold everything in place. Including the inside of the electronics compartment.

This is the only shot I could find.

Chap1012, it looks good. My friend's Super Cub was ok shortly after. He used Gorilla glue with toothpicks (we had it there), and it looked solid again. He then took off ok and crashed nose-first shortly after. His orange receiver simply lost connection and caused the plane to go down full throttle on the asphalt. It was total loss!

Tha Cub S is about twice as big as the champ. It can handle wind better and probably has better outdoor flight characteristics. But you would need a larger flying field.

So started my "Red Bull" paint scheme on my Super Cub! I'm not the best painter so it looks good from afar but far from good lol! Let's just say it's artistic license..

Paint is Testor's blue and the silver is OEM Mercedes Brilliant Silver (My dad has an auto body shop Masking tape WILL peel off the paint even after it dries so be careful!

I put the stock brushed motor/ESC back in and put the brushless system back in my F4U Corsair as I would like to get that back in the air as well.

I just started putting decals on it and have some large redbull decals coming in for the main wing. The decals were for RC trucks and cars so it was pretty hard to find large ones. It should be finished by this Friday!!

What do you guys think?

This was my inspiration:
