From the crash post just above.... I have connected to the PC Tarot software. If you look at the video, the camera has the bed spins. Of course normally, the onscreen camera mimics what you do with the GoPro but not now. If I power the gimbal up/down, sometimes I get what you see in the vid. Sometimes it spins on the vertical access, and sometimes it will generally mimic where the GP is positioned for a moment, and then start the spins.

I tried updating the software, flashing the settings, and calibrating the sensor. Nothing changes.

Any ideas

At this point it might not hurt to try to calibrate that way. Any other ideas out there?

Has anyone had a gimbal with issues and installed one of these that solved the problem?

Some musings

It seems there is a definite intermittent connection somewhere caused by the crash.

The chicken dance is caused by the controller giving out motor movement instructions that are based on information from the IMU and that is screwed up at the moment, the system is feedback based. It's the same as a new gimbal that's not been programmed before.

The issue may be a loose wire in any connector either motor or IMU as that will cause the above to occur.

You should be able to find it, I've not done it personally but I think you could probably fault find a single axis at a time by unplugging one motor and then seeing if one axis will maintain orientation.

I found a loose screw on the tilt motor shaft. That axis seams to be fine now. If I pick up the quad and pitch it forward/back all is good. If I roll it at all, the chicken dance starts up. Both axis were causing issues before fixing the screw. So I've isolated the axis. I don't see any other physical issues on the roll axis. I don't see any obvious issues on the control board. I guess I'll take the sensor cover off and see if there is anything obvious there.

I really liked this gimbal before I crashed it. But I have wanted a 3 axis to help with the occasional tail wag in videos. I always assumed Tarot would be coming out with a 3 axis. The 2D has dropped price everywhere. That is often a sign that something new is around the corner. But I have 2 gigs lined up, and I can't wait any longer. So I ordered Feiyu 3 axis.

Once that's installed and operating, I think I'll order that control board kit above. If I get it working, this gimbal can be a back up. Or maybe I'll build a hand held rig.

Hi, trying to convert this gimbal to 3 axis and I want to extend the cable of the original motors without scrapping the connector. And since I need to plug them in an Alexmos board, I need standard servo connectors. Is this femal connector would work with the one on the motors? Is it the right model?:

Thanks!
