A great little heli and a marvel of engineering. The Coast Guard scheme would be so much easier to see when flying over the grass. What will they think of next?
There aren't any 1/43rd scale decals, only 1/48th for the Skunkworks J-Hawk. The kit is only a little smaller and the decals would work as well as some of the other scale details in the kit if you're of the inclination to 'kit bash' a $30-$40 plastic kit I've researched creating a custom set using photoshop, color inkjet printer and some water slide decal paper. Once I get it all setup and tested, I'll gladly upload the artwork for anyone to use.

On a side note...is anyone using a higher capacity LiPo? I'm using a Tenergy 900mAh . It doesn't really fit too well as its a bit tall for the tray and I have to use my previously broken tray. I've thought of using something like this battery but not sure if it will fit in the space beneath when you take out the battery tray.

Happy Flying!

I had excellent results using Testors decal paper with an inkjet printer for the Albatros shown below.

It's necessary to spray a 'fixer' over the ink, but once it's dry the decals are permanent. The film is very thin which is both good and bad. It's good because it conforms to compound curves, but it's bad because it tears easily.

Love the color scheme. I fly in a park with trees all around. Amazing how that OD blends in with trees...

Did you paint just the outside of the body, or inside too? Not sure if you bought the plastic kit for the decals or not, if so where did you get it.

Thanks

Hi,

I have the nine eagles version of this Heli but have an odd problem. The heli gets in the air ok but when in the hover will start to wobble - nose/tail. It does settle if you fly about but back into the hover it starts again.

Any clues?

Fitted with the ne480140 RX and using the J6 TX that came with it.

Here are a couple of things to check.

If the Blackhawk has been crashed, I'd examine the feathering shafts. You'll need to do some disassembly to find out, but if they are bent the helicopter will definitely wobble.

If the helicopter has not been crashed, I'd double check that the main rotor blades are all tightened evenly. My Blackhawk works best with the blades on the loose side, but not all of models do. More important than how tight or loose is that they are all even. Unevenly tightened blades will also cause the helicopter to wobble.

Hope you get it sorted out.

Don,

Many thanks for the reply - I shall have a tweak of the main blades and see what happens, she has not crashed or had and bangs so I'll see what I can find, odd she will hover and then build up to the wobbles - in the circuit again fine.

Well had some time to try the Heli tonight, it has been in the boot of car in some cold weather so had a thought to bring in and 'warm' up. The main blades pretty tight and have eased them all off so they are pretty loose. Also there was some play in the body fit so checked all the small screws to tweak it up. The stickers on the blades pealing a little so removed the rough edges (will take off fully at later date). Had a quick test in the dark and seems a little better - will hopefully try at weekend and get a short vid.

Back to stage 1 - had the Heli out again this weekend and wobbles back. Everything tight as should be. It hovers then starts to wobble nose to tail, it will calm to nothing whilst flying but as soon in the the hover comes back. Dodgy receiver? Can't seem to find the NE480140 in stock anywhere.

I had a main rotor blade ground tip about two weeks ago on mine. The blades don't even look scuffed, but it broke the swash plate. After I replaced the swash plate it had the shake of death. Closer look and it appeared the main shaft was bent. I could only tell when holding it in my had and spooling it up to about 25%. So I order new main shaft, feather shafts, blades and main gear.
I'm curious to see if mine shakes like yours after I'm done installing all my parts. Before if was solid in a hover like my blade 300.

How about the links?
I would check all the links as one tight one will cause this too.
