Had a lovely fly tonight,
I tried a little experiment and took out the pilot, seat frame, side skirts,
Wheel spats (pants), the pod off the front and used a 1300 3s lipo.
Then went up the field and had a good fly to see what it would fly like if it was lighter.
well it was definately more 'floaty' but there was abit of a wind blowing and it was getting kicked about more than when its got the scale bits and running on the larger 2200 3s
Suppose it depends how you like a model to feel,
solid and secure or light and floaty really, nice to know u can easily change the flying characteristics by milling the alloy frame (as i havent done this yet on the new trike) or just fitting a smaller battery

Got out for a quick fly yesterday and ran a couple of lipos through it,
flew from a big hill which was abit different but nice to have a different backdrop,
also another lovely flight after work today! been spoilt lately with the weather,
this time I took my wife and daughter with me to watch and get some pics
this is the first time my wifes seen it for a year or so and she loved it,
she's seen the whole build from the day I came home with two bits of square section alloy and said "im gonna build a microlight" lol
she said she couldn't believe how well it flies and looks which was nice

I start by drawing the main wing shape on white ripstop material,
I draw it out using a large protractor to get the angles correct and pencil to draw it,
Cut it out with sharp scissors.
Once thats done I sew the pockets down the leading edge for the 5mm fiberglass rods to slide into just like on delta kites.
I then cut out the 'strips' for the batten pockets and sew them onto the wing at certain intervals, the more of these the better the leading edge will keep its shape so equals a more efficient wing.
after that I sew the double surface on, (its a good idea to cut out the double surface while you're cutting out the main sail)
also its fine to sew this in one go down the leading edge (this stich will double the stitch on the leading edge pockets and close the ends of the batten pockets)
but you must remember to sew between the batten pockets on the rearward part else youll sew the batten pockets closed from this point!
I then make the 'fin' and triple stitch this on for strength,
The fin (keelpocket) is made with a pocket for a depron strip to hold its shape better,
Any flat, light material roughly 1mm upto 3mm thick) will do (lexan, plywood anything really)
its really no more complicated than that but if you need me to ill post some detailed pics to show you in more detail

relating to the pockets of depron and lexan.
I do not understand why 'uses double surface (white-green)
I would like to receive the various external measures of sail made by you.
