Bird of time ARF elevators
I got to wondering,Are the elevator halves solid Balsa or built-up an sheeted.
I'm sure i could tell if i skinned it but if i do that i wont be able to fly it again until it's recovered. So, has anyone ever broke one or have pulled the covering off to recover one that could tell me. |

BOT Elevator
This elevator, is from the later model ARF, which had the longer wing joiners for the wing tips...
FWIW I also have an earlier model ARf, and the tail surfaces, appear to be the same! Yes, this one got away, amazingly I found it almost two years later amongst the alders in a swamp... Let me know, If you'd like any more detail, I can pull that apart some more for additional photos  whacker |

A GENTLE squeezing across the center would tell if it is built up or solid.
You will feel a "give" under LIGHT PRESSURE on the built up. Joe |
