Poll
Which mode do you fly?

I've been shopping on-line for a X9303. I noticed that most of the heli suppliers only stock mode 2.

I fly mode 1 because I started that way on aeroplanes, am I alone?

Just wondering.

Usually the U.S. and Europe is mode 2, Asian countries are usually mode 1. I had alot of fun with that when I bought a heli in China. I was a loner flying mode 2.

on most models you can change the mode if you open the back some have a switch to change it or you could probley just unscrew the joys and flip them around.

That should read "on some models." For example, the DX7 needs a trip back to Horizon to have things switched over because it has to have new firmware installed. Likewise, the JR9303 has an analogue trim for throttle which can't easily be shifted to the other side. So don't buy a transmitter expecting to change mode unless you check carefully first.

Incidentally, I flew fixed wing mode 1 for many years but switched to mode 2 when I took up helicopters two years ago.

Wow I am alone. That sucks. I'm reluctant to try and fly a different mode at this stage.

Daedalus66 you are correct the X9303 cannot easily be changed due to the analogue trim ( which I'm not that keen on anyway since I fly only electrics). I see that JR are are making an updated version of the 9X II called the DSX9 available to the Asian market in January. It looks like it has all the functionality of the X9303 with full digital trims.

p4ddy< i cant work out how to make this a poll. Forum's are actually harder than helis :-D
