Your favorite flap and aileron servos?

What is your favorite 9-11 mm servo?

What is your favorite 12-13 mm servo?

Thanks for your reply.

I don't care for the Hyperion DS 13's; they have a lot of shaft rocking...
The DS11 on the other hand, is AWESOME for ailerons.
For flaps I am liking the JR DS398's very much so far.
The Airtronics 761 is a great 12-13mm all around servo, I think.

Futaba 3150 is still a good choice. For flaps I often use Graupner DS3288, which is (I think) same as JR DS398.

I'm fond of the Horizon Hobby 7020(digital) and 7010(analog). The 7010 sells for $14.95.

ATX 761 for flaps - and 809's for ailerons - Light - lots of power and they stay tight if you dont bang your junk on the ground on landing

Right and this one area where size matters regarding servos - if your junk is large and you drag it on landing you create a really violent impact on the gear train. I really love my ATX servos but if your abuse envelope includes said behavior then I might suggest MKS which look to be tougher for abusive pilots.

I like the futaba 3156 servos very fast very strong. I have used these on flaps and elevator also with no problems.

Right now the JR DS398, Atrx 761 and MKS 6125(mini) are the top of the line wing servos. Unfortunately everything else represents some kind of compromise.

In the micro category are the Airtrx 809 and Futaba 3156. They seem to run very well for Daryl in his F3J models. I am not sure I would trust them in a B model. I have the 3156 on the rudder of my Maxa and I am going to try them on ailerons in my next Maxa.

I love the Futaba 3150's, but I have to run them with LiFe batteries, out of spec from Futaba, to get them to run as fast as the competition. I have had ZERO problems running this configuration, but I take my chances by using 6.6V on the input. Likewise, the DS368bb and 3421 are really from the previous generation of wing servos. They too run great on LiFe batteries. All proven, reliable equipment, but just not THE smallest/fastest/torquiest...I just made up a word

BTW, I sure hope the new Futaba wing servo lives up to expectations!

I think that you will really like using the 3156 on the ailerons, Aaron. That size servo seems so small, but in practice they hold up really well.
And it keeps the tips nice and light, maybe not such a benefit on the already light Maxa, but it can't hurt!

Yeah I wish I had thought ahead and acquired some before I built my Maxa Lite. I was just so excited to get it flying and I already had servos in house.
