I used 2 of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=2069, 2 of these http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11429, 5 of these(4 is all you need, I have an extra for an air scoop in the nose) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9549, one of these for the cargo door(overkill perhaps) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10346 , one of these http://www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo...8&productname=, about a half dozen servo extensions, also some silicone wire and battery connectors.
You will also need the foam of your choice, compatible glue, carbon rods for reinforcement, and various other bits an pieces for the landing gear and such. I strongly recommend looking through the thread for inspiration , as some of the work you will have to figure out as you go (using the "thread tools", to "view attachments" helps a bunch ).I wish you the best of luck! Joker ,,, This is maybe not the 1st scratch build to tackel. I admire your ambition and you seem committed to the goal of completing it and flying it. But there are builders with a lot more experience at it than you and they have set it aside and never finished it..... I wanted to build this plane for 3 years , never did then my 14 year old did it.
A wing is a simple and quicker scratch build |

I have to agree with alpea41, this might be a daunting project for a first build. A wing appears to be a fairly simple build, or perhaps something from http://www.parkjets.com/ . With that said, if you are ambitious and like problem solving, it is a fun plane.
P.S. I think I read somewhere about a kit, though I have no details on such. |

If your short on money and you've never flown a rc plane the Slow Stick is good. They make a version without a motor if you want to use your own electronics. I think you could build the 100% Twins though as long as you use blue fan fold in the place of Depron and bamboo skewers and dowels in the place of carbon fiber rods. You could stick with the Blue Wonder motors like Foam and Tape and keep the price down. Considering your age it would be good if you had an adult who could help. |
