Movo in the 50's 60's was producing models on their own design.

The name was from MOdelli VOlanti (flying models) because they were designing and producing planes.

Then they sold a few plans to other companies, like the Muimota tug that is now produced and marketed by Panart.

Other designs simply went forgotten, like the Asso speedboat or the Antares that can be found around the web.

Now Movo has a new ownership and they are a model-shop with no more production, they sell mainly planes and cars by other manufacturers.

A cleaned version of "Antares" has been published on the forum together with a build from Foamboard.

Regards Ian.

Thanks for that.

After receipt of half-a-dozen more sets of plans, I've fired off copyright requests to:

Billings (DMI)
Movo
Amanti
MidWest

...so we will see what comes back. Has anyone done a 'cleaned-up' version of the Amanti TORNADO? That's just scans of wood, so I'll be back to doing some more drawing unless anyone has done it first...

I am assuming this is directed to me. The files are large because I had the shop scan them in higher detail. It is far easier to make something more grainy than it is to make them more detailed after the fact. Also, they are full size of 3x4' ish in size.

Sorry Dmon, it wasn't a directive, just an enquiry. 72" x 36" sheets at 300 dpi PDF's are normally no bigger than about 400kb.

Regards Ian.

No harm done. I had never gotten plans scanned before, so I went with as detailed as possible. I had hard copies printed out at the same time, and they are clear and sharp! But if anyone wants smaller files, I think there are sites that I can use to make smaller file sizes.

I made a Klimek a few years ago. Posted in MBM, post 12 onwards, I found detailed plans on Freeship and posted them also. Makes a very nice looking tug.

I have a plan for Vic Smeed's Starlet, similar to the Gypsy. At 34" the starlet is a reasonable size, plenty have been built at my sailing group. The plan prints on A4 at 10.35" , enlarged up to 12" it is 35% scale!! and built it as a footy. Kept the sails as per plan, just longer fin and rudder.

Might print out a bit big KIWINB, this one prints at full size to give a Footy. Other one is full sized original (34")
