Has anyone any idea of what the new plane shown on the Kennedy Composites site is? I can see that it looks big and has a pod and boom fueslage and what looks like an enormous fin. The tailplane could be on a V mount or mounted on the fin as is more usual. The wing does not appear to be mounted on a pylon.

Larry should have one in a month or so. I am sure he will indulge us with pictures. I am very excited. I want one! It is mounted on a pylon exactly like the sprite.

Here is another pic: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...mentid=4020775

Big Sprite?

OK, looks like its made by Vladimir's Models and it's sort of an enlargement of a Sprite. Wing profiles still Drela, or development thereof ? This takes it away from the big Supra, which is the Icon II of course. Any model made by Vladimir's models is going to be well made, I have had 4 Supras all told and I have always been impressed by how well they are made. I have Explorers now, they fly well but not quite up to the Vladimir's standard of construction, especially in details.

If its an enlargement to a Sprite its a bloody big one. At around 3.95m span its more a stretched Supra but is in fact an entirely new design.
I know more but wont say......

curiosity satisfied

From the last post I think I have enough information to make an informed guess about the plane. I have been wondering about buying a Supra Competion with the glass wing for times when thermals are few or light. I think I'll stick with that. When any kind of lift is about my 3.5m Xplorer will do just fine and the 3.8's even better. I have never had a plane that lands as well as the Xplorer.

its is not a big sprite. its an entirely new plane. it does not use drela foils, i dont think. Joe Wurts was the designer and Vladimir built it. i will bet Joe designed the foils himself. this is all the info i got from Barry.

i think its going to be a pretty cool plane. be patient. there should be a lot more info in a couple months once the first samples are shipped for testing.

A quick look at 45 g/m spread tow on bottom bottom of wing. Also, check out ST boom. More to follow in comming weeks.

PS The ST shirt isn't for sale.

So are we talking a Spread Tow JW Onyx/Supra on Steroids?

My wallet is cowering in the corner like a whipped puppy. He knows what's coming....

No, The Toy is a new design by Joe based on the Supra for, a next generation F3J model. From what I have seen it has all the attributes to combat Icon2 with the latest materials and Vladimirs proven fabricating techniques. It looks to have the right planform, dihedral, and flap area to be very effective. LJ

I donīt see any spread tow fabric (as we do understand this term) at this. This is a classical NCF with +/- 45 ° orientation (with spread fibres, though)
