Was Kev's personal WindBurner but not any longer. It's amazing what deals can be made after a few beers

I was at the Tekapo site today, whitecaps on the lake, warm and sunny. Equinoxal gales are starting, book your tickets now!

I found that when it is good at Tekapo, i.e. more westerly, is is calmer at Fairlie as the hills block the wind.

When it is more north, it funnels down the valley and hits Fairlie pretty hard. I am keen to head further up the ridge line next time and find a good North-northwest site. I have my eye on a couple

I've now got contour lines on my mapping system which should help. Have you tried Mt John?

Mt John isn't a ridge. It has a flat, wide, rounded top. Need as sharp and straight a ridge top as possible

I actually meant the north end, not the top. Not as sharp as your one though.

I do have access to the hill off Red Mist road which is more westerly facing with a ridge 100m high and 400m along the top. Access via a closed road the army uses. Called Red Mist road because further down it is the live fire range. If you pick up any strange metal objects you just might turn into a red mist... Safe on this hill though.

So that's where my Windburner went,woke up with a sore head no burner.have been looking all over the place fore it.

Jono just be gentle on the sticks on the first flight the MKS servos are very quick and sensitive.

I'm pretty sure Jono runs about 80% expo. I think once he gets it up, he likes them quite soft. More cushion for the pushing
